earlier this week I decided I wanted to read Queen of the Damned by Anne Rice. I own the book — have for years. I actually own books 2-4 of the series, QotD being the 3rd. But because I like having context behind a story, I decided to wait til I could get my hands on the first one, Interview with the Vampire. The day I bought them, the used book store didn't have ANY copies of the first one. And I didn't wanna spend more money getting the rest of the series when I had trouble finding the first one. My book collection was already kinda unmanageable at the time.

Anyway late Monday night, I decided I wanted to read them. So I went on Amazon and bought a copy of Interview with the Vampire. Expecting it Saturday, I was surprised when it arrived this morning and immediately dove in. I've not been sleeping much or well lately so this was a great way to relax and conserve energy for this afternoon.

Lemme tell you I'm not very far in — only 35 pages — but it's got me. I'm actually glad I waited til now to read this series because had I started it 5 years ago, I might have digested it a bit differently. I may not have even made it to the goal, or even finished this book. Which... I know I haven't yet but. This headspace I'm in...feels more open to consuming. I'm not sure how to explain it. But I believe I'll be reading this with more enthusiasm than the other stories I've picked up lately. Heck, I even considered reading this one aloud for a vocal project I'm considering.... We'll see.

I'm hoping this will inspire me to pick my writing projects back up. I desperately want to write and paint and draw more but I've lost desire and motivation to do most creative things. It's kinda heartbreaking for me but I'm exhausted and nothing seems to be reviving the sparks. Every day now I have to tell myself I am worth the time, effort, resources, etc. I am worthy of better, more than the lack I receive. And I'm worthy of receiving the gifts and blessings the Universe has to offer me. I am worthy of the life I want to live and the love I give. And have given. I'm working on it.

1 - Have you read the Interview with the Vampire series?
2 - Would you be interested in hearing me read again?
3 - Who is your Internet service provider? I desperately need an upgrade. 😮‍💨
