The mystery of the game not working
Added 2020-06-03 16:30:20 +0000 UTCAs the game didn't work for several people I've spend some time to reproduce the problem, but failed to get the error except with two experiments (mentioned later).
So I recompiled the version and reuploaded it, plz download the newest file:
Please make sure you unzip the folder and that your firewall allows the game to access the internet. (That's just one copyprotection call, which pulls one piece of information from a website)
Please share your results (positive or negative).
This is some really annoying problem and it's hard to find out what actually happened.
About the two 'experiments' which failed:
I know the game won't start when your internet connection is in China or in Iran (or you are using proxies, which go through these countries). I am not sure whether more countries/regions are affected, so if it doesn't work, plz share if you are in some 'special' country (you don't have to name it directly, just stating if it's a region that might be affected by domestic internet censorship or US sanctions).
I hope it just works and was just some error fixed by recompilation and reupload.
Sorry for not responding earlier. I wanted to fix the problem, but I couldn't even reproduce it except under those special conditions.
