Peter Graves, the actor who played Captain Oveur, was in the Mission Impossible TV series back in the 60s. The Mission Impossible theme playing while he was messing with the computer was a reference to that. Yes, that was a good 14-15 years before the first Tom Cruise Mission Impossible movie.
