So when I first said that a lot of the characters start of seeming very over the top & tropey only to later turn out to be way more complex & grounded in reality (despite the magic stuff obviously) this is the specific episode I was thinking about lol. Glad you responded well to this episode & seem to get Kagura's character now coz while she's not a fravriote of mine the amount of hate she gets from some fans (especially compared to certain other characters) is pretty mind boggling to me, especially when other stuff comes to light later on in the series. Also yes to what you said about the reasoning vs the actions not matching but still sometimes having an objectively important effect on someone because back in season 1, Yuki tells Tohru about how it makes him feel guilty/ashamed when the people at thier school act like he's this "perfect prince" type guy because he only started acting that way because he was so desperate for others to like him (which makes total sense with the way he was raised). Like is it a bit of an act on he's part? Definitely but are those people actually being hurt & is he evil for behaving that way? Absolutely not. This also ties heavily into another character but to avoid spoilers I'll save the rest for when the series gets to that part but all I'll say is that almost no one in the Sohma clan was taught healthy coping mechanisms & ahh boy dose it show Shout out to Kazuma again for visiting he's Grandpa's grave & god him not being allowed to even be burried in the Sohma estate (& that being Kyo's fate as well) but Kazuma talking about how it's nice that he's grandfather was finally allowed "outside" is so bittersweet đđ!
