Y’know, I’m currently watching your Nightmare Before Christmas reaction, and it’s made me think of another film that could make for a cool Halloween-time reaction. It’s not stop-motion, it’s live-action, but it’s super stylistic and you can tell just by looking at the film that Tim Burton not only watched it at some point, but took extensive notes and based a lot of his film-making style on it, hence why watching Nightmare made me think of it. It’s a silent black-and-white German expressionist horror film from 1920 called The Cabinet of Dr Caligari. It’s not as scary as a modern horror film, but it’s definitely got a creepiness to it, and it has some really cool and unique sets and uses of shadows and shapes to get across that creepy, surreal feeling. Hmm, I’ve never seen Fantastic Mr Fox, but I’ve heard good things about it, and I always love a good Roald Dahl story. I might have to check it out if it wins the poll (as it’s looking like it will). :D
