I also just checked places like MyAnimeList and the like, and overall the consensus seems to be that Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood is considered THE best anime ever. On MyAnimeList alone it has a 9.2/10 rating from over 1 MILLION votes. To keep THAT high of a rating even after a million votes is INSANE. For me it's tied with Little Busters! and Little Busters! Refrain, but wow I thought that was just me. I didn't actually know FMAB was ranked so highly in general. That made me feel warm and fuzzy inside lol. That's Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, the 2009 anime. The 2003 Fullmetal Alchemist is different. Still good. Same sub and dub voice actors, but its story deviates shortly into it (because the anime had caught up to the manga, so the animators were making up their own story) and it's not quite as good. It still has an 8.23/10 with almost a million votes itself, but I will always highly recommend the 2009 FMA Brotherhood over it.

2020-03-10 21:10:48 +0000 UTCSpeaking of other anime recommendations, I know I mentioned Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood before, but I forget if I mentioned that while I usually prefer watching subs (unless the dub is also good), Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood is one of those instances where the dub is better than the sub. I don't say that lightly. It's REALLY good. Usually I like the subs and can tolerate or also enjoy the dubs, but Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood is the ONE anime where I actively CANNOT STAND the sub. Part of it is that Ed has Naruto's Japanese voice actor, and nothing against them, but it REALLY doesn't fit Ed that well. Vic (the English VA) gives Ed's character a flair and intensity that I simply can't see him without. Also aside from Little Busters! and Little Busters! Refrain that I also mentioned, I'd recommend Kaguya-sama: Love is War. The summary about it may be enough to rope someone in. It's a short 12-episode comedy and if you really want a summary, I can give a pretty brief one that doesn't spoil anything. But it's really funny and really sweet. I love the characters. Kaguya is very funny/cute, and Chika is the perfect example of a genki girl done right. If you've seen the Chika dance on YouTube, she's that popular. It's such an enjoyable series that you can get through pretty fast. Anyway, in the manga Orochimaru said to Jiraiya "Even though we're both handicapped, the difference in our power is clear.". Hard to say EXACTLY which handicap is worse, but yeah Orochimaru is a formidable opponent for Jiraiya, which is why the whole "Jiraiya could take out Itachi, Kisame, and the rest of Akastuki combined" argument people used to make was ridiculous. Of course, both aren't showing their all of course. Shounen anime never shows a character's full power right away xP And I had to rewatch your reaction to Naruto's last moment here, because even if I find Naruto largely annoying with his loud brash attitude, this moment was straight up epic badass x)
