Love this movie! 2015 was one of the best years for Oscar movies. So many gems there were that year (Whiplash, The Grand Budapest Hotel, Still Alice, The Theory of Everything, The Imitation Game, Gone Girl). I was rooting for Birdman and was ecstatic when it won.

2021-08-19 00:54:55 +0000 UTCIt won 4 Oscars including Best Picture and Best Director . The film mirrors Michael Keaton's own career because he was always known as the guy who played Batman . He did this and it was instantly seen as a comeback for Keaton as a actor and earned him a Golden Globe award and an Oscar nomination . They actually filmed it in a fully running Broadway theater in New York City .
