Just for your own treat, just listen to Colm Wilkinson or Alfie Boe sing "Bring Him Home". That was the only song from this movie that I thought truly suffered from Tom Hooper's direction.

What’s awesome about this movie is that the cast gets better every year… The foreman in Fantine’s factory went on to play King George in Hamilton on the West End. The barricade boy that shouts “Marius you could’ve gotten us all killed!” after the first attack went on to play Jean Valjean on West End and UK Tour (as well as multiple other west end roles)

I wish you could react to the concert version they did a couple of years ago! Even if it’s just for patreon! I was there live and it’s incredible. Now you seen the film and know the story I feel like you need to see the Westend concert so you really appreciate the music more!! X

I second Moulin Rouge! I think you guys will have a lot of fun with that one.

Eddie Redmayne singing Empty Chairs at Empty Tables gets me EVERY. SINGLE. TIME! Also love On My Own.

You should watch Chicago - great musical and lots of fun

Definitely second the recommendation for Hairspray!

Agree about Empty Tables. I cry every time!

another musical movie i really recommend is the 2007 movie Hairspray, it covers some serious topics and is also so funny, i think you guys would like like :)

Yeah I’m obsessed with that guys channel!! I love it

I always defended Crowe, because he is decent signer but the directing and some creative decisions did him no favours. See him singing Confrontation live with Hugh in a bar. And how it is 10 times better. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n51PtM7sEVU. I actually prefered him to some of the cry-singnig momente that were so many in the show. Only Sam Banks with her Broadway experience could pull off singing amazing and acting like she is crying. Anne Hathaway was so caught up in acting and just getting emotionally wrenched her singing? Not that great. Empty Chairs on Empty Tables is my favourite scene in this movie. I actually laughed when you mentioned you've just see Aaron Trevit in Grease, because you get Amanda again in Mamma Mia. There are some repeats in the cinematic/tv musical world xd that's for sure.

It is awesome you are watching all of these musicals. I would recommend Moulin Rouge and La La Land.

If you interested a youtube channel called sideways does a deeper dive into how the live performance of the actors impacted the film. He has some other videos on films you watched that might interest you too. This is the link to his channel if your interested https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCi7l9chXMljpUft67vw78qw

Please react to the Maze Runner movie series next

Fun fact ☺️ Colm Wilkinson and Hadley Fraser (the bishop he steals from near the start and the soldier at the barricades, "You at the barricade, listen to this...") are big West End stars who were invited to audition for small roles as a little nod to the stage versions. Fraser was actually playing Javert in the West End at the time.

Thank you for that. Not gonna lie, I have a love for so many musicals, but this one is not even one I watched again until you. I guess I needed a different view of it. Thank you!
