Mamma Mia UNEDITED REACTION (early access)

Comments

Ok. So. Ok. I’m definitely totally about to watch this. And an unsolicited story: my daughter is named Maia (my-uh) and she responded to two things as a baby: music, and sounds that sounded like her name. (She adored the “numa numa” song, lol, anyway…). When she was a baby, she got very sick very quickly. She went from “perfectly fine” to “unresponsive” from Friday to Monday. She was 9 months old at the time. The local hospital we rushed to had Scottish Rite in Atlanta send both an ambulance and a helicopter - so that we’d ride on the first to get to us. Anyway, long story shorter: she survived after a four-day medically induced coma. The nurses had to keep checking her vitals and she was just a baby. So, to distract her, we’d play Abba. Mamma Mia, to be specific. She would calm immediately and listen, no matter what. So. Y’all better have liked it. 😉 (no pressure, really. She’s lovely and healthy now, so it’s a good memory of a horrible time.)

awwww no waterloo!

The actors were constantly drinking when they were filming. That's why they seem to be having so much fun :D

Please react to the sequel :D It’s just as good, in my opinion, I think the second one is better :D

I’ve always loved this movie. When I was 7 I got it for my mom and watched seven times in three days. I’ve seen the Broadway tour and the sequel. I’ve probably seen it over 200 times, can quote every part, and love it always. I’m so glad I got to see you guys watch it.

The movie has a great cast but it still isn’t as fun as seeing it on stage. And of course on stage the actors will largely be better singers. Poor Pierce Brosnan received one of the funniest reviews comments I’ve ever read when the reviewer commented of Brosnan’s singing voice “now I know what a donkey sounds like when it’s dying”. Harsh! But probably deserved.

Michael Soukup

Did you guys not enjoy it? Haven't watched the reaction yet.

Linda Wightman

Lmao! Kinda

Possibly lol

This reaction was so funny, I’d definitely love to see more silly type reactions from you guys in the future, twilight possibly??🤔

ronnie

🙏 praying for hairspray soon 🙏 x

minxmish82

Yaas going to love this

minxmish82

Awww you turned it off too early and missed them singing Waterloo at the end 😭 the best part

Hannah Goldsmith

I just love this movie for the fun lol you're right, it is ridiculous. But it is fun :) and I believe most of the cast are still good friends. I know Meryl Streep and Christine Baranski (the taller woman) are close.

Sean Silence

I love that this reaction is basically just y’all being like: “What the fuck is happening?” 😂

Ana Mendes

I actually enjoyed this far more the second time watching it with you guys because you look so bewildered 😂 - I'm quite used to this outlandish genre...it's quite common in some British comedy films. I'm also not an ABBA fan but I do love 'Mama Mia' and 'Dancing Queen'....definitely not a deep film but glad you could have fun with it :)

Effie

I wish you hadn’t mentioned the drunk bit. Now I won’t be able to enjoy the scene. Some of us have huge PTSD when it comes to drunkenness.

Angelic_Wings

I enjoy this but it not my favourite musical in the world. Having said that… It’s just fun. It’s not meant to be anything serious. The take a chance on me bit is my fave bit and that’s the character I relate to. I also always cry at slipping through my fingers.

Angelic_Wings

I love this movie. I hated it the first time I saw it but its really grown on me. ABBA’s greatest hits was the first cd I ever bought myself and the vinyl is often playing at my house. This show is ALL ABBA music. I almost saw it on stage in NYC when it first premiered but it opened the week after we left. Honestly, the stage production is even more fun. It’s a jukebox musical which often leans more on the nostalgia of the music than anything else (and there’s some really great jukebox musicals). And when you accept that, you’re really able to enjoy it. The second one is even better honestly. Like, insanely well received. Also this movie was produced by Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson which I just love. Tom wanted to be in it but was afraid he wasn’t a good enough singer

The second one is better in every conceivable way please watch it!

I saw the national tour tour of the show onstage and it was amazing!! I love this movie also!!

Raina Williams

Just some fun facts, the woman playing Donna's friend(the little one) played Ron Weasley's mom in Harry Potter and Sofie's fiance played Tony Stark's dad(the younger version) in the Marvel movies. This movie is such a feel good movie and i love watching it with my sister when she visits me! It was a really fun reaction, but i can understand why this was not something you guys would pick on ur own! Either way i'm very happy you guys did and this made my night! :)

Caroline

the stunned expressions when the take a chance on me song started absolutely killed me lmfao. Also idk if you caught it, but the guy who played the fiance was the same guy that played Tony Stark's dad in the first Captain America movie lol, also at the beginning when the actresses were acting drunk as hell, they actually were lol, the director got them drunk and told them to have fun with the scene

Alex Romanov

Saw this in the theatre and never realized that the story was always about Meryl Streep's character making the decision to not run away from the thing that she has always been afraid of her entire life . The yearning to be loved and in return learn that letting go of your fears is not a sign of cowardice but love and courage at the same time . What a good , fun and beautiful party this film and musical is .

Not you uploading this just as I'm literally about to go to sleep 😂 Oh well, can watch it tomorrow
