Hey friends,
Hope you’re all hanging in there. I love to be like “Gotta do a short one today” and then not write a short one but I have 30 minutes to whip this up so it simply must be a short one!!!
This week on Gender Conceal, Mckenzee and I answered your questions about movie reviews, detective catchphrases, petty complaints, lesser-known trans emotions, and essentially whether a food can be light blue. Along the way, we also talk about cats, David Lynch, Werner Herzog, Paul Preciado, Love Lies Bleeding, Moonstruck, Mickey 17, SEPTA, the transsexual gremlin, being normal, and also our medical history for some reason.
Photo: This is a sketch by David Lynch of a cat in a weird contraption for Dune, paired with a screenshot of a real cat in the contraption in Dune, because Mckenzee brought this up in the episode and then sent me the visual and it seemed important.
(I want it noted that both times you hear the Jeopardy theme, the song plays over the exact duration of Mckenzee’s diegetic silence! I am committed to accuracy in the bit.)
(Also the blurry pic at the top is us line dancing, as promised.)
Several of this episode’s questions were submitted by the same lovely listener, Charlotte, who I was able to meet at the Minneapolis show! Which brings me to my next topic: thanks so much to everyone who came out to see Gender Ordeal in Chicago and Minneapolis! It truly means so much to me. We had a blast and I hope that you did, too. It was also suchhhh a treat to meet so many of you!!! :)

As you surely know, we have exactly one more Gender Ordeal show left. It will take place on May 9, which is in less than two weeks! I know there’s so much to do every day but if you’d like to come see this show before it disappears into the ether, I really think you will have a nice time. Tickets are available at genderpodcast.com/live as always.
BTW, if you come to the show, you will hear approximately 12 minutes of my personal dating gossip that I will absolutely never say on the podcast so there’s that. :)

Anyway, no time for a full Links & Stuff today, but I did listen to the audiobook of Cactus Country over the course of our trip, and it was a very interesting perspective! It is somewhat of a detransition narrative, but also it’s more complicated than that, and anyway the cover slaps.
Okay, big news coming soon, but that’s it for this week! Thanks for being here. Here’s your Weekly Rhubarb.
