Hey friends,
Hope you’re hanging in there. Absolutely unhinged for me to send this on a Friday night after waiting for weeks, but look, sometimes I don’t think things through.
We’ve been working for months to book the rest of the Gender Ordeal tour, and unfortunately, one specific venue/date has been continually delaying our Full Official Announcement. However, I’m getting antsy (and, crucially, so are the venues) so I’ve decided that you, our beloved patrons, will not mind getting the news a little bit early. So, without further ado!
Friday, January 31
Washington DC — Union Stage
6pm doors/7pm show
All ages (but no promises that we will behave)
Fully seated (afaik)
Tickets: $20, on sale now
Director’s commentary: I’ve never been to DC but surely this is gonna be a really normal and chill time to come??? Idk but I promise we’ll do our best to bring the mood up from whatever is going on over there in your bathrooms. Please don’t let this one flop!!!
Monday, February 10
San Francisco — El Rio
6pm doors/7pm show
21+
Mixed seating/standing
Director’s commentary: El Rio is very generously opening JUST FOR US on a Monday, which is sooo kind, and also means we are paying them a big rental fee lol. So for their sake and ours, we gotta sell a bunch of tickets to this one! Which is no problem because we will have some incredible Gender Reveal alumni involved in da show :) :)
Wednesday, February 12
Seattle — Here-After @ the Crocodile
6pm doors/7pm show
21+
Fully seated (afaik)
Director’s commentary: This venue is TEENY TINY so I’m expecting it to sell out fast! Which means that if you want tickets, GET THEM NOW! I know February feels far away but don’t sleep on it!
Now, you may have noticed that there’s a day between Feb 10 and Feb 12 … and there’s also a state between California and Washington … interesting!!!!! Keep an eye out for developments on that!!! (Or if you have an alternative venue idea, let me know, because I’m losing faith that this one is gonna pull through! Ideally ~300 capacity, but that’s loose, tysm.)
If you are currently like “wow, tuck, why are you being a coastal elite right now??” I totally get it lol. Please know that I am simply booking the cities with our biggest audiences. (Except Los Angeles because it’s simply impossible to book a venue in LA, rip.) I would very much like to take the show to Chicago and Minneapolis at some point, but I’m not quite confident that we’d be able to sell enough tickets to cover costs, so let’s try these dates out and see how they go! If they sell well, we’ll keep touring. If they’re a bust, well, at least we tried. :)
(And speaking of which, I know these dates feel far away but PLEASE I am BEGGING you to buy your tickets early! We’re not sure what audience size/venue capacity we need in any given place, and it would be so helpful to get an idea early when there’s still time to adjust if needed! Thank you so much I really appreciate it!)
(Also! Masks encouraged at all tour stops, please!)
And one MORE thing: don’t forget about our Philly show in 11 days!!!! December 3!!! My birthday-adjacent show!!! Tickets are still available, hope to see you there :)
Okay, let’s just finish up like it’s a normal newsletter, shall we? Here’s Links & Stuff:
This incredible website shows you random slice-of-life videos taken by everyday people around the world, recorded in 2009-2012. Some of them have zero views! I am obsessed with them! Last night I got to see a clip of a 2011 Britney Spears concert(!) and also some Capoeira and fireworks and a dance rehearsal and various silly animal clips and a pretty impressive rec soccer match. It’s just very beautiful actually imo!
Also, this piece on phone photo archives as maximalism pairs perfectly with that website
Everyone is asking “what comes next for trans people, post-election?” But I think Kate Sosin did a good job actually sourcing expert advice
It’s also a good time to revisit the orchi barn story :)
Tuck’s Creature Corner:
Over on Bluesky, I am doing an ongoing thread of Ruby pics because I like to experience joy and hate discourse posting
Speaking of which! That’s it for this week’s newsletter. Here’s your weekly Rhubarb.

Photo: Ruby appears to be guarding a door while yawning/screaming.
Xo,
Yr resident gender detective
PS: 2 Trans 2 Furious is on sale (a whopping $1 off) right now in our shop if you know any freaks who still want a copy!
