Hey friends,

Hope you're all hanging in there. I'm not!!!!!! Physically, I am on the floor. Mentally, I am here.

OK, no, I'm fine, it's fine. Everything's FINE. I came here to say that we have a new bonus episode out! The ep features two short, visibility-themed essays by Erique Zhang and Vidhya Aravind, which we were able to commission using funding from this very patreon!!! Thanks for giving us the ability to collaborate with our smart friends.

(Big thank you also to Producer Jules for reading Vidhya's essay and putting the episode together! I know it's their literal job but also wow what a gift for me to Not Do Something this week.)

As is always the case during mutual aid drives, I spent today in a vortex of google spreadsheets, pausing just long enough to sprain my ankle (lolololol). We've raised $17K in the last 26 hours, which is extremely wild and powerful!!!! Good job, everybody!!!!!!

I have no further non-whining thoughts in my brain so here is a list of stuff I liked this week:

Friend-of-the-show Em pointed this out on the Gender Reveal slack and it's so funny to me.
Friend-of-the-show Annika made some really cute merch.
Friend-of-the-show Parker wrote a truly excellent article about the way that Black women have been disrespected by the Oscars for decades. (I learned so much!)
Friend-of-the-show (yes, we have so many friends! it's cute!) Jenn Chávez wrote this feel-good story about Street Bikes, a mobile library in Portland. Stories longer than like 700 words almost never keep my attention, but this one was so nice!
Also, I still think this is a good idea/mental image.

I really appreciated this roundup of D/deaf perspectives on CODA. (It also unfortunately features the writer saying "who is nonbinary" about someone who is nonbinary for no apparent reason! A classic.)
This week's episode of Abbott Elementary was a true gem.
Last but extremely not least: Jamie Lee Curtis is going to officiate her trans daughter's "cosplay wedding" while wearing a World of Warcraft costume!!! The only true ally!!!?!?!?!
