Hey friends,
Hope you're all hanging in there. I know that everything is very very bad in most places, including here, but I am not going to talk about that much because I think sometimes our brains need a break. CW on the next sentence, tho.
I was talking to a friend yesterday about how they felt bad “taking up space” online by creating art or existing, when there were people getting murdered (by police and by randos and by friends and family) every day, and I said something about how living our whole lives is a good way to honor the dead imo, and they said they were gonna frame that on their wall, and they were surely joking but I wanted to offer it to you, too, for when you feel guilty about taking up space with joy or existence. Living our whole lives is sometimes the best thing we can do.
To that end! I spent yesterday outside, wandering around various parts of town (and showing off this new shirt), and ended up a little bit a little bit intoxicated and a lot dehydrated and a very very drained by experiencing the concepts of “sunshine” and “the world.”

Photo ID: Tuck wearing a white muscle tank that says "trans people are hot" over and over again in red all-caps text.
I fully intended to go to bed early but instead I spent an hour sending people screenshots of interesting-looking dildos for some reason. A couple of these will be below, underneath this SFW photo, to give you time to scroll away if you’d prefer.

Photo ID: A black short-haired cat with big green eyes staring up at the camera. They're sitting on a blue rug with white stripes.
(Venus is in Taurus right now so I encourage to buy any extravagant sex toys that catch your eye today.)

Photo ID: a 6.75" dark green prickly pear dildo: it literally looks like a cactus (no arms, just lots of small "spikes.")
I'm obsessed with this concept. It's just so counterintuitive (to me!) to buy a cactus dildo. Some people's minds!!!!!

Photo ID: A 5.5" dildo in blue and bronze. The shape is a swirl/corkscrew, and the colors make it look like it's made out of metal.
This one made me think of, like, the home of a Grecian god. I showed this to two people and it made one person think of drills and the other person think of soft serve ice cream so... who knows?

Photo ID: 6.5" Goth Girl Twisted Dildo: a red dildo in a classic shape, covered in black and white stars, lightning bolts, circles, skulls, crossbones, question marks, exclamation points, etc.
This one has such powerful Hot Topic energy and I'm trying to imagine who is like "this is hot to me." If it's you, I'm happy for you.
In more relevant news, I recently wrote this piece about some of the ways journalists can improve their coverage of the trans community, featuring the wisdom of Harron Walker and (unofficial GR merch model!) Britni de la Cretaz. My favorite parts are the parts where I literally just said "Mind your business" and "Find a new plot" in big bold letters, and also this section by Harron:

Photo text: Let trans people be people. Walker observes that writers sometimes project their ideas of “how all trans people are” onto their sources, creating generic, one-dimensional characters. “Whether it’s viewing us all as victims or fragile little babies or incredible diva goddesses, it can still be dehumanizing,” she said. [next sentence is highlighted by tuck] “Humans are famously complex, and trans people are famously human.”
Otherwise, everything's the same ol’ same ol’. I finished paying out the Trans Day of Snack mutual aid — we ended up $1165 over budget but I just paid that out of the Gender Reveal gender budget, which YOU PERSONALLY pay, so thank you thank you thank you!
I also managed to take a couple days off (or mostly off) so congrats to me on meeting last week’s goal. I hope you're also taking some time to be gentle and kind to yourself.
We’ve also got a couple more weeks on this month’s round of merch. We’ve sold almost 50 Trans Kids Are Wonderful shirts this month, which is rad as hell because we’re donating proceeds to inTRANSitive in Arkansas. (I bought myself a Surf Shark Tank because I don’t have a pink one and it seems weird to not have this iconic item for myself.)
That’s it for this week, I think! Here’s your weekly Rhubarb. I love you.

Photo ID: Rhubarb looks up at the camera. She is lying down on a porch, with her head on one side of a white railing and her body on the other side of the railing.
xo,

PS: Don't forget that our grant program is open for applications through the end of this month! Please help us spread the word.
