This is a recipe that I have been wanting to make for quite some time. After making it, and tasting it, I don't know why I waited so long.

If you're a fan of burgers, this one is for you!

The only thing missing from this is a side of fries :) So if you want to get creative, maybe you can serve this over a bed of roasted potatoes instead of rice.

You can use 96/4 ground beef instead. I also always use Kraft Fat Free Shredded Cheddar Cheese. It’s more expensive than the regular shredded cheese. Lastly, you can also decrease the amount of bacon strips you use.

Any way to make this with less fat?

Not much. Assuming you bought 1lb 93/7 Turkey it has about a 10 calorie difference to 1lb 93/7 Beef. The beef has about a gram more protein. If you bought 99% lean Turkey, which I can never find, it would be about 100 calories less per pound. Divided among 6 portions, its about 16 cal less. If you bought 85% Turkey, then your adding 240 calories to the entire recipe and about 40 per serving.

I made this for my husband and I! So delish!!

Made this for the first time today! We all loved it, I did change it and used ground Turkey instead. How different are the calories and everything since I used that instead?

This is probably my fave meal prep I’ve made so far! I made it today with ground Turkey, because beef is SO expensive right now and it was still so, so good.

Not a fan of mayo and pickle juice. Does it change flavor a lot?

Definitely prefer this over noodles, but still a nice change!

I made this tonight for the first time. I forgot the cheese, but it was good enough my husband commented on it without being asked. He even asked if I'm making it again when this batch is gone! That's high praise from him, whose normal reply is, "It's alright," and only if I ask. Now if only I could get our little one to try it...

For portioning, I just estimate. You can always weigh the whole batch and divide by your desired number of portions. To get the proper calories and macros, just multiply the amounts that I provide by 6. That is your calories and macros for the whole recipe. From there you can just divide those large numbers by 8 (or whatever portion amount you want) and that will give you your nutrition per serving.

How would you replace the bacon? That is one thing I cannot stomach. I don’t like the fake bacon either, lol
