Cubular dissolve fracturing "benchmark"
Added 2017-11-23 14:04:17 +0000 UTCIf anyone got time you can help me with a "benchmark" of sorts, just for fun...
Unlock the voronoi in the cubular dissolve scene, disable/enable it so it cooks and when it's done, middle click the node and see how long it took to cook. Post it in the comments to this post with the CPU info. :)
And my Ryzen 1800x takes 6.57s to cook that thing, that's just crazy! I really need to upgrade, very likely I'll get an i9-7940X after the holidays... :P

LOL, yeah, I do have a decade or three doing the hardware crap, if you remember... ;) And as it looks now I'm just gonna keep my H110i as it shouldn't have any issues cooling the 7940x and I'll buy some fitting cooler for the Ryzen 1800x as I'm putting that in my kids box. :)
2017-11-23 22:49:42 +0000 UTCDon't worry about custom stuff, just get a good 360 AIO (using the one from Fractal here (made in Sweden) ) - OC is pretty easy, saved 2 BIOS profiles in a weekend, one at 4.5 for daily stuff and one at 4.7 ghz for high perf needs. Anywho the 7940 should do just fine!

2017-11-23 22:42:41 +0000 UTCYeah, I'm kinda into not overclocking this one, that's why I'm into going high to the 7940x... As I've told you earlier, I was into getting into custom water-cooling and all that, but lately I've been so bored with messing with the OC crap after every bios update, etc, I just wanna get back to the lazy setup I used to have, hehe... Focus on Houdini.
2017-11-23 22:06:35 +0000 UTCSounds good, but i think 14 cores will run hotter than 10 meaning less ghz hehe this is the tip of realistic OCing here, but could be also in the sweet spot for those extra 4 cores @ 4.3 or something, we'll have to find out after you build it :D
