Hello folks,
for everyone not strolling on the discord server let me give you an update on where things stand. I have converted the system to Houdini 18 and added alot of new ideas and features. It is basicly a completely different thing then what I started with.
Here is a list of features that was added
- different altitude based on parameters and terrain
- leaning orientation according to curvature
- Gates with procedural animation once the train approaches
- procedural terrain manipulation
- reworked algorithm with real weighted determination of objects to place
- more detailed geometry for towers
- the train is a fixed part of the system with its own speed system either with fixed values or a solver for calculation according to slope
- changed design for an over-under train model inspired by the Star Wars Han Solo Movie (Even though I have not watched it yet ^^)
- more detailled geometry for train cabin, wagons and engine
- procedural mech arms that use a procedural animation to release when approaching
- PDG system to create variants of detail geometry for the wagons
All of this is already ready and in place.
I am currently creating 2 separate files one for Redshift rendering and one to work as an unreal asset.
But I am just checking everything for a last time and basicly start the batch recording.
