About importing obj file in Blender
Added 2024-10-15 10:50:44 +0000 UTCQuick info about importing obj file created from Clo/MD into Blender. I don't know if this is a bug or working as intended.
You may notice that the normal of the fabric, seamline, topstitch and puckering does not show up in blender.

A quick way to fix this is to use the legacy obj importer but it is removed in newer version of Blender (> 3.6).
My solution is to fix the texture nodes as shown. (For the normal map, set the normal strength to 1 and make sure the color space is set to non-color).

For best practice, set the textures as follow if you are using UDIM tiles like me.

However, to avoid the hassle, I still use Blender 3.6 so that I can use the legacy importer. If you have a better solution, please let me know.
Of course, for best outcome, instead of letting Blender load the texture automatically, you can manually set up the texture yourself. The obj file exported from Clo does not come with some maps like roughness and metalness. You can find the textures that I baked in textures folder for your convenience. I always set up the textures to be applicable to all models whether it has pants or no pants, buttoned or unbuttoned.
