I just became a patron recently so, my comments may not be as important. I understand wanting to include lower class ppl and ppl who do not have the funds for whatever reason( and I grew up in poverty and am doing ok but not wealthy or nothing) but I think It only makes sense that they try to increase their revenue especially considering how much FREE content (that I myself have watched) on YouTube for months/years. I think I can explain about the intensity of the comments esp from your first patrons who are also cousins. It’s basically the fear of missing out, knowing they won’t be there for the sibling and stepdad viewing parties. No matter how irregular the old ones were, cousins still had access to all of it. It’s also loving the intimacy of the fewer patrons when people basically built this trust circle esp around viewing parties. I could never catch them and they were always like, we cannot tell you anything!! We’ve been sworn to secrecy! I 100% agree that some of the cousins were really doing too much, but yall also said that in the cousin tier that we don't lose anything but the blackfishing exclusive that monet specifically cites as an example is now locked behind the $10 paywall, when before it was accessible to the $5 dollar tier. Making higher priced tiers and putting in new rewards is not the issue, but the problem comes when you reallocate existing content away from the lower tiers into being exclusive for the more expensive tiers. I do agree that the backlash from some of the patrons was in really poor taste, with some of the comments being insanely rude.

Ironically as I watch this, my work, which is a sandwich shop, changed our prices and menu board this week. People have been really plucked and we are two days in. Some people have left, some haven’t tipped us and plenty have made rude comments. We also haven’t been able to do specials because not all of our products have been available from vendors with them pandemic. So this is something that happens across the board. My first reaction was, well I can’t afford to be a step dad but I could bump to sibling for now. I understand. Y’all have to do what’s necessary to create better program and expand. Just like with work, the gave us all a raise for sticking through the last year. We can’t get a raise without more income. I originally joined patreon when there wasn't a bunch of perks. I did it on the sole fact that I wanted these two drag queens to continue to work. I wanted to be an additional source of income for them. Artists spend a lot of time between gigs hoping they have enough money saved to be ready to take on the next gig. There aren't that many part-time jobs that allow artists to continue to work and do their art simultaneously. The idea of the patreon to me, was just a way to donate to the success of their career. Once the perk started, I was so grateful that I got to see the growth of their journey along the way. They do way more than it's needed to be a part of this group. I wish I could become a stepdad and I sure I will for some of those months! I'm just here to support two great black queens doing their thing!!! You really don't understand how much these drag queens pay for out of their own pocket. A lot of keeping up with social media and the needy fans, takes a lot more money than anyone is willing to consider. Turning looks isn't cheap. They don't get paid to do everything that makes them successful drag queens.

This is wild, I was literally talking to a friend today like ‘Bob & Monet’s Patreon is £5 and there’s at least two hour long videos thrown up EACH WEEK’. I pay for Disney+ and Netflix and don’t always get 2 hours of content I want to watch each week. A PRIVATE RSS FEED WOULD BE GREAT!!! I've suggested this before because on Android the patreon app only lets you watch video exclusives on YouTube so I can't multitask or bring it with me when I go out for a walk. At first I was in my feels, as a cousin and someone who (in my mind) is the 3rd water sign friend of the group... but then I remembered conversations that you two have had. Something along the lines of how fans don’t get to dictate what an artist or content creator puts out, like just like we have bills, so do y’all. And upon further thought, a lot of those bills you incur come from trying to bring US, the fans, more things. Like this movie, and tours, etc. So while I’m still a cousin, imma try to up my coin to do a sibling tier and respect you and your art and how much I love listening to y’all. I'm a fairly new cousin (about a month or so) and all this anger/frustration over the new tier seems very misdirected. Since joining, I've had SO much to watch every week. I've felt like I've gotten to know Bob and Monet like on a real level ( AND Jacob, whom I love from behind the scenes). Many of the topics you cover have ignited deep conversations in my real life. And just generally, it's helped me feel more social and less depressed/lonely in my pandemic bubble- it's really helped my mental health! I can understand getting heated over ANOTHER thing in this world that feels unfair (there's so many things) and sometimes it's those small things that send people over the edge. I just get the feeling that the whole team works very hard bringing this content to us. It's not easy being "on" like this all the time- being so quick witted and funny and willing to put your whole self out there for the masses to consume. I know that this is literally their job- but jobs are hard! And they should get paid for it!

When i saw the new tier i was happy for y’all, i want y’all to be successful and it’s inevitable that once you grow to 15000+ patrons that y’all will have to create something new to filter people out because you can’t be having zoom calls with 10000 people 😂. I think you see the harsh comments predominantly because the announcement was pretty clear about the new adjustment that some of us did not even feel the need to leave a comment under that post. I've read that you were introducing a new tier without taking any content away from other tiers and that was it. Due to pandamic most of your gigs are cancelled and you're (inc. Jacob) putting your time and energy into this work. And, capitalism doesn't really work like that. Capitalistic system also leaves you unemployed with no insurance, get you to spend your time and energy over a content and price it (for 5 dolars for most of us) in a competitive market.
