i don’t think it’s super uncommon for some biracial people to avoid claiming their blackness in some situations. A lot of times mixed people have experiences of not being “black enough” for the black kids or “too black” for the white kids and theyre not latinx or anything else. so they develop a level of insecurity surround race since they never felt a sense of belonging in one. if that makes sense. I did an internship in England in 2004 and the queen and prince Phillip came for some ceremonial opening. The interns all got the day off to be in the processional line to "meet" her. So I have photos of her from like 2 feet away. I was struck by how tiny she is. For some reason I always expect famous people to be either larger or smaller than they really are. What everyone else mentioned about how the titles work is true but I also remember reading about Prince Charles pushing for them to reduce the size of the official royal family as much as possible to reduce the costs on tax payers. Many years before Megan married Harry, Prince Andrew had to lobby and push for his daughters to get the princess title despite Charles objecting to it. Charles and many of the other royals have been very tone deaf and clueless before so it’s entirely possible they didn’t even think how bad it looks to start their cost cutting royal family reduction process right when they have potentially the first not so white prince. With regard to the title, Archie won’t get one until Charles becomes king, then he will be a prince. It’s to do with a declaration by King George V in 1917 which limited the title of prince and princess to the children of the monarch, children of the monarchs son and the eldest living son of the prince of Wales. In 2012 the queen declared that all William and Kates children would be princes and princess, but her other 6 grandchildren including Archie are not.

The queen revised this rule years ago, which is why William's children have titles. They're also great grandchildren of the monarch but are called Prince and Princess instead of Lord and Lady. I think the issue is there's been no reason given why William's children were exempt from the rule but Archie isn't.

Bob and Monet, the reason why Archie doesn’t have a title is because of some weird rule back when George V/VI was in power where if you’re so many generations deep in the royal family, you don’t get a title. So a lot of the queens’ 3rd child’s children don’t have titles. So when Charles becomes king, Archie will then get a title. But the issue was that apparently the royal family wanted to change thst rule for Archie so that he never gets a title which is wild and that he doesn’t have security but all the other grandchildren have security no matter how far deep in the lineage they are. Hope that clears things up!!!

When you were wondering about why Kate didn't give a statement denying Megan didn't make her cry, remember the Royals don't give statements about gossip and tabloids, they are not the Kardashians, they continue with their lives and ignore everything. The reason Harry and Megan child won't get a title is because both of them decided (or were pushed aside) to remove themselves from the Royal family and any royal duties. Having said that, it costs around 1 pound ($1.3 dollars) per person per YEAR to keep the Royal Family, that's why many people don't bother about removing them. They might bring more money thru tourism than taking money away from you as an individual.

I think it is fair that archie doss not have a title. As a UK citizen i do not want a royal family full stop. I dont want to give people power and status for living in a palace and being born into royalty let alone if they choose to step away from that and are not involved. At the very least there is some exchange (however silly to me it seems) between the royals’ work and income they bring in and their titles and privileges
