Sometimes a story comes up and I just can't wait to share it with you. I had a completely different piece of bonus content planned for this week (as well as an announcement of an upcoming project) but then this story came out, and I wanted to talk about it. Buckley takes a deeper look at the viral story of Richard Rose; the man who claimed a certain disease was just "hype", who refused to wear a mask, who continued to go to public spaces, and who died about 2 months after making those claims at the age of 37.
As for the new project? I'll announce it next week (it's tied to the piece of bonus content), and in the meantime I'll also mention a new feature coming to Patreon called "Buckley vs Buckley" where I basically break down one of my older videos to see if my opinion has changed, or if I agree with it now more than ever, and what I might do differently if I did the same video today. The first one of those will come out at the end of this month (assuming no one else does something really interesting, like deny science and then die because of it).

They shut everything down for a while, then slowly opened it all up again and now they're 'kind of' locking shit down but the stores are still open and some people are wearing masks but most aren't. It's hard to know what to think when media and politicians are routinely so full of shit about everything else. I'm sure something's going on, I'll just err on the side of caution and put my trust in The Doc. Haven't left the country or my state in 10 years, I'd argue that if the rest of the world did what I did covid wouldn't exist but fuck it, live and learn I guess. From down under, hoping my favorite angry Canadian makes it through the craziness. Have a great weekend all.

I mean, you'll notice over time I have made some changes to the wording I use or whatever, because slut-shaming is dumb... who doesn't love sluts!? But joking aside, it was a different time (as weird as that sounds, even like 5 years ago, the landscape of comedy was different) and every male comedian was making jokes like that. And although I'll never apologize for them, and I think leaving them up serves as a good time capsule for "what we thought was funny at that time", I just try and do a better job writing comedy without just doing easy things like saying the word "whore", which was an easy laugh 8 years ago.

It would be interesting to see how you've changed over the years. You're a smart man, and smart people often change a lot over time, because most of them can handle evidence, and recognize it when they see it. Even if doing so causes them discomfort.
