It's Advice Patreon Asked For, featuring someone who's struggling to actually take full advantage of their open relationship, a person who wants to figure out how to end a family tradition they're not too fond of, and a casual weed smoker who's been given an ultimatum by their parents.

2021-04-02 22:03:02 +0000 UTCUnless the weed enthusiast lives with their parents, part of the issue is also boundaries. The parents are treating them like they're still a kid living at home. I have no issues with weed use, but the bigger issue is that the parents need to step off. If the question asker were to frame it that way -- "I'm an adult. You can feel however you want about how I spend my time at home, but you don't get to decide what's that looks like. If you want to stop talking to me because you can't control my life, that's childish, but that's your decision to make. I'll be here when you come to terms with that." -- then at least the parents can't try to make it into "Smoking weed is more important to you than your own family??" and they'll learn the lesson that they can't stomp their feet and get their way anymore. They'll come around, or they won't and nothing of value was lost.

We celebrate parents drinking but people would have a heart attack if they saw a meme about parent smoking dope to deal with their children.
