It seems like twilight had the opposite development from SMT for that idea.

2022-06-01 08:03:35 +0000 UTCthe "Edward thinks like a school shooter." part kind of reminded me of how the original megami tensei book (what shin megami tensei which persona spinned off from is based on.) and how the main character does a similar sort of crime (summoning demons to kill students and teachers.) though what's interesting about that is it does treat it as a bad thing and even later books adressed how fucked up that is and interestingly SMT if... has a similar premise (where someone who is bullied summons demons as revenge on his school mates.) Though that character is very explicitly a villain the whole way though that game.
