SM AU: Boo redesign
Added 2025-05-22 20:19:43 +0000 UTCThe redesign test for King Boo, made for the rewritten/rewritten version of the Super Mario AU! No idea what the AU will be called properly, but for now I'm just callin it the SMAU.
For this rewrite, Boo isn't a king and instead is a blacksmith, hence the direction of the design I took. I wanted to try and keep the general idea/motif of the "boo" in his face while also tying him closer to his daughter's design I made a while back: something more humanoid. I think I like the end result but we'll see how I feel about it over the course of the next few days. In the meantime, keep your peepers peeled for the next design test! >:]

I can still see the original in the face, but a blacksmith ghost is so awesome! I have to ask, what inspired you to take this route? I know you mentioned that it was to connect him more with his daughter, but I wonder if there was something else that drew you to creating him into this role?

2025-05-23 02:19:42 +0000 UTCThank you! ❤️ His side flaps are basically his beard, mutton-chop fashion :) He'd still be able to move them freely like limbs, so I don't see any reason why he couldn't cover his eyes with them, he just wouldn't since he isn't one to be shy!
