Yes thanks for the Thoros of Myr background they get into it a bit in episode 6 as well. I didn’t think about the Mad king fire connection but that does make sense that he’d be the prime person for them to try to convert. That quote was haunting idk if the trade off for the power of rebirth is worth losing all of that. Yeah Robb was acting particularly Ned-like in that situation for better or for worse. The whole situation is a really tough one. So that’s why he refused the medicine! Yeah that whole sequence was great. I love Jaime and Brienne's interactions now.

Welcome back to GoT! I've really missed these, I've been trying to engage with these when they make it over to YouTube proper, I hope they pick up over time. So Thoros of Myr has always been a priest of the red temple - he never really believed in the lord of light but he was bound to the faith regardless (red priests are typically slaves, the church owns them), and they sent him to Westeros originally to try and convert the mad king into a believer (you know, since he loved fire and all that). Him accidentally bringing Beric back to life was enough to truly convert him and everybody else in the brotherhood! I actually really love how you brought up the bit about Beric losing himself because it's scary sounding in the books. One of my absolute favourite quotes from book 3 is from this part: “Can I dwell on what I scarce remember? I held a castle on the Marches once, and there was a woman I was pledged to marry, but I could not find that castle today, nor tell you the color of that woman's hair. Who knighted me, old friend? What were my favorite foods? It all fades. Sometimes I think I was born on the bloody grass in that grove of ash, with the taste of fire in my mouth and a hole in my chest. Are you my mother, Thoros?” Ughhh the Karstark situation. He's obviously in the wrong for killing those boys but his view regarding Robb and Catelyn isn't totally wrong either. And Robb SHOULD have kept Karstark hostage, I think. It's not the best situation but it's at least something to hold into the men he has. He has too much of Ned in him, alas. 😔 This is one of my favourite Jamie episodes - he refuses the medicine because he doesn't trust that they don't just chop his whole arm off while he's out of it. The scene of him and Brienne in the bath is one of my favourite bits adaptation wise, I mean they freaking NAILED it, the acting, the pacing, ugh it's SO GOOD. The "my name is Jamie" hits so perfectly after all this time of him calling Brienne wench or other names. The book spends a bit more time with them so you get a lot of "Brienne! My name is BRIENNE!" but with things cut down for time I think they still got everything nailed down expertly~
