I'm not going to appeal to emotion. Animals dying in waves, water currents getting fucked from lack of arctic ice leading to a Blue Ocean Event, or how our own microplastics are leading to human infertility.
I'm meerly going to list a few simple things we can do individually that won't effect how we do things day to day and is as bare minimum effort as you can get.

All search engines host ads. However all their profit goes to planing trees in over 30 countries. You can even see their earnings and where it goes.
Not all plastic can be recycled. You should still try but for small pieces make an ecobrick. Basically stuff a water/soda bottle with as much lose leaf plastic as you can and seal it before junking it (or use it as a part of a boundary for a garden if you have a lot of trash). Even if it ends up in a landfill, what's worse? Having it float everywhere or compressed into a bottle?
If you're buying stuff, and I know things are getting pricy, go for containers that are glass, paper, or aluminum. Those are so easy to recycle and more paper companies are turning to bamboo and eucalyptus which takes less time to grow than your average tree.
Finally if you're going to a beach like these girls, fresh or salt water, avoid sunscreen that has oxybenzone and octinoxate as ingredients. All water leads back to the ocean and this stuff harms coral reefs.
Thats all I wanted to say, while it seems corporations do everything to screw us over we can still vote with our dollar. And not buying things we don't need is still voting, to reduce is the first step in all of this.
Speaking of, a quick 5 minute email or letter to your representative can mean a lot. Even a short paragraph puts pressure on them.
