"The Killing Road" (Megadeth) Solo Transcription & Lesson/Analysis

It's been a while since we've done a Marty solo so today we're back on the Megadeth hype and covering one of the sickest solos the band every produced!

The Killing Road is often overlooked in favor of the more well known solos from Rust In Peace, but this absolute beast of a solo shouldn't be missed and belongs in every Metal guitarist's repertoire.

What's unique about The Killing Road is the fact that it nearly entirely revolves around the Phrygian Dominant scale, which is kind of unusual for Marty (who is usually one for flip-flopping around various different tonalities). Thus, this is an amazing opportunity to gain a deep understanding of this awesome scale!

Good luck and don't forget to share your progress with everyone in the Discord server!

Album is so underrated in Megadeth’s catalogue. Great solo!

I realized how beautiful this solo was when I saw the Youthanasia documentary on youtube. Thank you for the lesson Bradley!

Definitely on the cards at some point!

What's funny is I don't really like that song that much so I never noticed this solo. Now I am thinking it's one of my favorites!! On another solo tangent!! All I have down so far is the first few bars :P

Scenes is my favourite Marty album. If you are doing more Marty stuff I'd love some if you could show some of his solo work too.
