Added 2023-10-01 17:40:21 +0000 UTCHere we are, the final instalment of my "Learning The Modes" series! In this lesson we finally get to the juicy stuff - how to apply everything we've learned to our playing. I show you my special method of knowing exactly when you can use Modes and how to identify and work out which specific Mode you can use in which context. If you still have any questions remaining about Modes following this series then please don't hesitate to ask me on here or on Discord!
Good luck and don't forget to share your progress with everyone in the Discord server!

Why doesn't everyone teach modes this way ,so it what's played on top of the mode that brings out the model sound.

2025-01-14 19:31:30 +0000 UTCHey :) What If I play just power chords, where there is no minor/major definitio. in that case the "catch tones" are missing, therefore it depends on a general feeling of a current chord progression ? Thx

2025-01-12 16:54:37 +0000 UTCJust joined a few weeks ago. I decided to pickup a guitar and start grinding all over again after almost 20 years of just noodling around. The modes have always been a pain point for me, but thanks to your explanation in these videos it is finally crystal clear for me . Thanks and keep up the great work.

2024-05-22 01:53:59 +0000 UTC.What a shame that Patreon doesn't have a translator. I'm not fluent in English and I have to watch the video deducing and translating. It would be a good idea for you to see this multilingual issue because you will certainly attract people from all over the world to your eccentric, fun and valuable classes.

2024-05-22 01:51:32 +0000 UTCHi Bradley. These exercises gave me a "eureka". in the sense that as long as the chord does not leave the base scale (jonio) it is played jonio and when the progression requires it (enter the outside chord) the other scale is used. however, some chords (triads) coincide in both modes. I - iii - V and vi. we could use both scales. However, is it preferable to use the Ionian mother scale and evoke Lídia only when this outside chord comes?

2024-05-22 01:48:24 +0000 UTCBeen playing for quite a few years but never passed that 'intermediate plateau' so to speak. Really good lesson series on modes, particularly how to actually use them to improvise in rock/metal context. Wish I'd been taught this years ago :)
