Hand Strength Builder
Added 2023-02-17 20:59:08 +0000 UTCIn my opinion, one of the biggest things that gets overlooked by many guitarists, (even experienced ones) is the importance of strength in your fretting hand. It doesn't matter how many scales, chords and arpeggios you know - if you don't have the required hand strength and dexterity to be able to play them confidently and precisely, then it doesn't matter. So today I'm showing you 2 SUPER useful exercises that I've used personally to achieve very high levels of hand strength!
Good luck and don't forget to share your progress with everyone in the Discord server!

Good exercise. What picks are you using currently? Also, what string gauge do you have on your E standard tuned guitars?

2024-02-14 00:34:11 +0000 UTCBradley, I have a suggestion. What about a full, concise warmup routine, especially for people like me that get easily distracted and revert back to senseless noodling. I know several fellow musicians that still struggle with this.

2023-02-25 15:05:14 +0000 UTCIt worked quiet well for me, i did the second exercise every day since last week until today and tried the first one again today. tThe stretches sound way better and even the last stretch is a lot cleaner compared to last time! My hand still cramp a little but much less!

2023-02-19 22:38:12 +0000 UTCFantastic exercise! Though I haven't practiced this stuff much, I'm able to just barely get to the 20th fret, though in any comfortable manner, so I'll keep practicing! The real killer is definately the 2nd fret in the second exercise though.

2023-02-19 18:35:58 +0000 UTCAre the backing tracks made for standard tuning? I have my guitar tuned down a whole step as I'm trying to learn some Ghost songs.

2023-02-19 11:27:03 +0000 UTCThat sounds like a great start! Definitely sounds like after a bit of practice and getting used to making those big stretches you'll be doing them comfortably in no time

2023-02-19 11:26:17 +0000 UTCAwsome! I'm lucky enough to graced by the gods with big slender hands but I'm just managing to get to the 19th fret before cramping up. Will be sure to work on this. Cheers

2023-02-18 18:34:18 +0000 UTCGreat Lesson! Im actually getting through all the stretches but at the last 2 my hand starts to cramp up a lot and i start holding my guitar like a weirdo :D, and also the e on the 12 fret in the last stretch does not sound 100% clean, more like 60-80% clean
