LET’S WATCH: Ratatouille

THIS. IS. NOW. MY. FAVORITE. MOVIE. OF. ALL. TIME.
Guys, it's not that complicated. It wasn't the og recipe; Remy put his own spin on it and elevated a peasant dish. Apart from being so good that it could be served at a restaurant, it also brought Ego back to his childhood.

Think it's hilarious that Americans think that all people from the UK sound the same. There's roughly about 55 accents in the UK that all sound completely different to one another.

So I’m French. And I have pets rats. Yup.
I just started the reaction. But I have to say. Yeah outdoor rats can be dangereous and transfer you disease. But pet rats are out of the street since a long time. And they are clean. No problem about them. They are loving creatures. Who can’t live alone. They love to play, being around you and love to go inside your clothes to be warm. And feel love. They are very smart creatures. Mine, spin around if they want treats and they are so cute and never bite me. So outdoor rats stay out. Don’t approach them. But pet rats. Just play with them because they only want your love !

yea the french gov hired some terrorists to blow up our(NZ) boat that was trying to stop them setting of nukes up wind of us. Then they got mad that we arrested the terrorists and told us to apologise. only good thing about the french is they hate their white flag gov as much as the rest of the world. love the french for their hate of the french gov tbh

Pixar from 2000-2009, a 10 year span, gave us Monsters Inc., Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, Cars, Ratatouille, WALL-E and UP. I don't their is a bigger 10 year run in cinema history.

You also have to remember that rats only live two years so the whole time span from the beginning of the movie to the end of the movie can’t be anything more than two years and most likely would be very much shorter

Let me just stop you right there they aren’t related ego‘s. Mom is a tall lady, whereas that old lady in the house at the beginning is a very short tiny lady. They are not related. It’s a completely different lady. The reason why it flashed back to his childhood is because ratatouille is a peasant dish and he grew up in a poor peasant rural environment, so he was accustomed to rural peasant dishes. It reminded him of his childhood growing up Eating fresh food cooked by loving parents.

i had a near drowning experience a couple months back. There is a few beaches on Naval Base Great Lakes in Illinois. And i had decided to go swimming but a very strong current came in and swept me under, pulling me into the current breaker. Bashing me up against rocks and continuously pulling me under i didn't know if id make it as no one else could see me and i couldn't stay surfaced long enough to call out. But i kept trying and saying "God, I'm not dying here" and managed to find my way to a spot that i could climb my way out of the rocks... i finally made it out, almost drowned and covered in blood.

There are some significant problems with the theory you read at the end of the video. (Not the least of which being that the director said that this theory [and others like it] aren't true.)
Gusteau only died 2 years before Remy arrived in Paris. He was also said to be the youngest chef ever to achieve 5 stars, meaning he couldn't have been all THAT old. According to google, the youngest 5-star chef in Paris is Gilles Epié, who recieved his fifth star at the age of 22. Assuming that Gusteau was 22 when he got his fifth star, and that he published his cookbook that same year; if Ego is in his 50s, then that would mean Gusteau's would have had to go for nearly 40 years as a flawless, 5-star restaurant. If it took Gusteau any longer to write that book and release it, then it took even longer. All this would mean that Guseau was at least 62 when he died, and, in all the footage we get of Gusteau, including his death, he doesn't appear to be nearly that old.
Additionally, I see no way for Ego to be THAT much younger than Gusteau, and be one of the most influential food critics in Paris without ever having reviewed Gusteau's before, especially if it was considered one of, if not, the best restaurant in Paris for so long. Not to mention to be a critic whose opinion means so much to Gusteau as to kill him. Additionally, there's no reason for Ego to review Gusteau's book if it had already been out for 30+ years, and he certainly shouldn't do it if he was familiar with it from when his mom used it.
How's this for a theory though? Same concept: When he and Emile are in the kitchen, Remy says, "it's a good thing the old lady is a food lover." The Old Lady (her name is Mabel, by the way) was a foody, and as a foody, she most likely made certain recipes several times at home, and probably had them written down, which Remy would then read ALONG with Gusteau's cookbook. When Remy pulls the recipe to show Colette what he wants to cook for Ego, she begins to make it by following the recipe card, *BUT* he stops her before she even begins and shows her how HE would make it, instead. Remy made an old Ego family recipe to feed to Anton Ego!

When Remy got scared by that dog barking near the beginning of the film, the silhouette of the dog was indeed Dug from UP, or at least a reference to him. Pixar like's to hide Easter eggs in their films, some of them hinting at stuff in future film's.

3:30 I don’t know man one of my favorite jokes is from an anime called drifters.
They have a scene where a Japanese zero pilot from ww2 meets Scipio (yes the one from Rome).
They can’t understand each other because of the language barrier so Scipio has the great idea that he must know the great city of Rome so he just keeps saying the name.
The zero pillow connects Rome to Italy to the axis powers and welcomes him as an ally…….
Then he remembers their surrender in 1944 and starts beating the shit out of each other.
Drifters is a great show for history buffs it’s more or less a battle royale of historic history throughout time being taken moments before death to another world to be pawns in a game between 2 gods.
You got ppl like Scipio, Hannibal, Sundance and Butch Cassidy, oda nobunaga, and rasputin in the show it’s fkin wild

One of the best Pixar movies.
Remy is a fucking inspiration.
It’s funny, but the whole “anyone can cook” message made me realize the same thing about art.
When I was a kid, I didn’t think much about what art really is—and I definitely didn’t see cooking as art. This movie made me realize that “not everything is art, but art can be anything.”

Just such a good film with a great lesson
When Remy smells the soup and almost vomits, it shows how bad the soup must be because rats can't vomit.
Yes, the Ratatouille was like his mother did, because the old woman from the beginning is Ego's mother and that's why it's taste like Ego knows it. Remy learned it from her. You can see in the flashback it's the same house. Love this little hint.
I love that you can see Ego looks so healthy and happy in the end
