This was insanely cool! I think that Toph is so fucking badass! She's blind!!!! This makes me feel like her other senses are heightened, and I can't wait to see her role from a bigger story perspective.

I feel like they "should" love to dive into that Avatar world again, enjoy cool fights, bending martial arts etc. But they seem Lost like int the fog of Lost souls tripping on the same spot that is ATLA, without ever moving on. That said. The show is master class sure. But you can't expect EVERYTHING to be masterclass.

Often times people make a comparison to Naruto and Boruto that if you're going to like Boruto you have to just separate it from Naruto or you're going to hate it. (Personally never seen either show and have no intention of such, but I do agree with the sentiment - overall) LOK is it's own beast and best viewed pretending ATLA doesn't exist.

It was never going to beat the animated show, but I appreciated that they kept to the spirit of the show (something the movie certainly did not do).

I haven't seen it in years, butas a kid it rubbed me the wrong way because its definitely a different vibe. It's more action packed, and the story telling feels less " old and wise " and more "badass". The extra lore and bending you get to see in that series alone makes it worth it.

The emotional impact of each book really hits hard when you compare it to our real world traumas during this period of war.

Honestly on of my favorite episodes all the wwe references and hung gd mick foley as the boulder is just too perfect Also to clear up abit of confusion many people have about this episode and some others in the show. For the most part you can’t see air bending with the naked eye. That’s why they thought the blind bandit took a fall because to them they just saw he fall out of the ring they didn’t see the air being manipulated. But having airbending be completely invisible for the show would be very boring and hard to follow so the creators decided to clearly animate the air moving to help the viewers. But in universe it’s very hard to detect airbending with the naked eye

I do admit that it doesn’t completely live up to the original avatar, but it does have really good storytelling and really good moments just like avatar as far as the live action movie you need to watch it just so you could see how bad it really is. I mean, it will hurt your soul to watch it, but it is almost funny And comparison to everything else the live action series I didn’t really bother to watch because I heard that they really kind of screwed it up and even though it was visually OK the storytelling was just torn apart because they tried to cram everything into just a couple episodes.

2025-01-01 18:46:57 +0000 UTCLegend of Korra is amazing, it is not as well put together as Last Airbender mainly due to nickelodeon fucking over the writers by only greenlighting 1 season at a time for the first 2 seasons then after greenlighting seasons 3 and 4 they cut the budget towards then end of 4 making the creators choose between firing people or cutting an important episode. Overall Last Airbender has a more complete and well put together story, but imo Korra has the highest of highs in the franchise, it just also has the lowest lows. I would give Last Airbender an A+ and Korra B or B+.

Legend of Korra is absolutely worth the watch, it's different from atla because it's from the perspective of older characters with wildly different and darker themes.

Imo the live action movie is not good. It didn’t do the “magic” of Avatar well. I really enjoyed the live action show. Some of the storyline was changed but it held true to the core of cartoon Avatar and drove home the fact that the four nations are at war.

There’s some changes that I fundamentally disagree with and it’s definitely not as good as the animated. Legend of Korra is great. As good as Clone Wars or Rebels would be. Lots of good episodes, some bad episodes, as opposed to to ATLA that has a WHOLE bunch of good episodes and like 1 bad episode

Korra is good but not as good as ATLA of course since this is in my opinion one of the best shows of all time but that doesnt make Korra bad, i really like it. As much as I love ATLA Korra's enemies personally way better and think or it this way. Aang lived in a time where the world needed a warrior. Korra lives in a time where the world needed a political Avatar. The only thing that personally drags Korra down is the love triangle they where doing. Other than that it's actually good. For the live action series view it more as a cliff note series. How did the Fire Nation get to the Air Temples? It answered it, how did the fight between the fire benders and Airbenders go? It answers it. How did the war even start it tells us. It's not as bad as people where making it out to be. As for the Last Airbender movie think of it as a parody movie. Which ATLA book 3 has one. Also this episode shows how much they pull real world things. Because family members that had someone with a disability back then they would hide them from society or send them away that's what Tophs parents did.
