Wall-E (FULL MOVIE REACTION)

Hey everyone!

OH MY GOSH!!!!!!!!! This movie is 1000% one of Pixar's BEST movies! I was totally astounded by the messages behind this movie! Social structures, lack of individuality, but a message of hope at the end.

Fucking flawless! Also, not to mention, the amount of emotion and feeling captured by all this nonverbal communication?! Incredible impressive!

No wonder you guys voted this movie in! I am extremely thankful you guys did! Honestly, you all never miss. Love you guys so much! Have an incredible weekend, and I will see everyone on Monday!

Love you all,

Alex

I’m glad someone else noticed that detail about AUTO in the pictures, first time watching it I remember thinking like he’s slowly taking over and becoming “too powerful “.

For me WALL•E is in the Top 3 at least! I mean it did win an Oscar for Best Animated Feature Film. The score was so good, I love how they used the animation to mimic certain camera movements and angles that you’d see in live action movies. The movie wasn’t a comedy, but more like a poignant, romantic drama sprinkled with a dash of social satire. I especially liked the fact that it had tons of important reminders to stop being vain and materialistic to stay healthy and to protect the Earth’s ecosystem/environment. I think writer/director Andrew Stanton, who also wrote and directed Finding Nemo, really nailed it with the many small details and dialogue-free moments, like the first part of which is filled with awe-inspiring, quietly beautiful moments that speak volumes in their utter simplicity. It’s almost like two movies cut together, one with the robots and a somewhat more obvious and less magical one with the fat and complacent mankind willingly bound to a luxury liner spaceship. The mechanical heroes are more expressive and more engaging than the tubby humans, solely through the mechanics of robot eyes and body language and a symphony of beeps and whistles. Star Wars sound designer Ben Burtt not only does the audio honors here, he’s credited as the voice of WALL•E. I would call the first half of the film the better half with its incredible level of detail, witty and sly humor scattered amidst the barren wasteland of earth and Andrew Stanton’s ability to create a magical relation ship between a dirty piece of automated steel and a cockroach. In the film’s second half where it transforms into more of a standard adventure film, which wasn’t quite as clever or as artistically inspired as the first half (IMO). But still, I love this film and will never get tired of watching it again! Thank you for the reaction, you should watch it on your own time with more focus, because you did miss quite a lot of small moments and details.

Purple Cowboy

I knew you would love Wall-e! You're a big gummy bear!

Regarding the lamp in Pixar’s intro animation, its name is Luxo jr. and he’s from the very first 2 minute short that John Lasseter (the man who started Pixar) made before he got scooped up by Disney and who started distributing their movies. I still think Disney and Pixar films feel a little different (which makes sense since they are technically two different studios about 7 hours away from each other with completely different teams of artists working there. There’s a really different feel to Disney’s Frozen than Pixar’s Wall-e. I think until Pixar still takes much bigger risks storytelling wise than Disney. Anyway, this short was made in 1986 by Pixar they were still just Pixar. Here’s the short https://youtu.be/EqK6nogZ5fA?si=Q37nUvy1HBTAujaW

This was hard for me to watch, only because this is my son's bedtime movie. I must have watched this film 80 times. It's a great movie but it's basically background noise to me now.

Andrew Freeman

Far and away, this is my fave “Pixney” movie. It’s so sweet and thoughtful and profound all at the same time. I’m so glad you got to it. And dude I was talking back at you while watching it.

1:10:00 one cool detail about this scene looking at all the captains. Is that as each generation goes by auto get closer and closer signifying just how much control he has gained over the ship. Also man if you every want to pick up the gaming channel again and want a game similar to the plot of this film give “stray” a try. The basic premise of the game is very similar to wall-e, humans run the natural resources of the world dry and pollute the world making the surface toxic. So they created a creature to consume the garbage while locking themselves into massive underground vaults with robot companions to serve them. Long story short the humans die leaving their robots alone. With the absence of humans to serve the robots started to mimic what humans were like eventually gaining sentience and forming their own civilizations in the vault. This is where you come in, an unspecified time later (estimated to be 7 millions years after the vaults were sealed and the humans died out) a group of cats find their way to the vault with one cat falling in, you the stray. The entire game is you trying to make it out of the vault and meet back up with your family while uncovering the mystery of what happened to the world and the thousands of ppl who once lived in the vault. Also man you play as a cat with a dedicated meow button come on it’s cute af.

Nightmareman99

This is an incredible piece of cinema and has so many wonderful lessons for kids. Btw, the song in the beginning is called “Put on Your Sunday Clothes” and it is from a musical called Hello Dolly which came out in the 50s and was a hit movie and broadway success. They also use another song from this movie when Wall-E falls in love with Eve, called “It Only Takes A Moment” and the scene from the movie for that song is also shown on Wall-E’s TV. I love seeing newer movies incorporate other classic films, I saw this as a 6 year old kid, asked my parents about the songs, watched the original Hello Dolly and fell in love with the world of broadway in general. The original score is also great. The song that plays during the fire extinguisher space dance is called “Define Dancing” and it’s a fav Disney/Pixar instrumental FOR SURE. Great reaction as always!

Rachel Cabot

Been showing this film to my son since he was a toddler. He still loves it to this day. The stars, the music, the message, the adorable robots, the love. Every part is absolutely magical.

Dylan McNamara

Did you ever get to see his fair use Patreon video from June explaining why he decided to do this format? If so I would appreciate to know

Champion Productions

Awesome reaction!! I definitely recommend watching The Crow 1994 it’s a cult classic and it stars Brandon Lee who tragically passed away on the set of the movie.

Jenna Hughes

I ordered the one with Ron and Harry smoking and skater Walter White 😂

Noah Etcheberry

I knew this movie would get you fired up. :D What a nice watchalong. Great job.

I don’t have access to his fair use Patreon video from June but if you have access to it and are willing to, I would appreciate if you could explain why he decided to do uncut style.

Champion Productions

I do enjoy this movie, but it’s not a favorite. For my top 5 I gotta go with: 1. Toy Story 2. The Incredibles 3. Monsters Inc 4. Toy Story 3 5. Inside Out

Alex should react to Pixar Theory

Devyam Seal

WALL-E is top 2 for PIXAR in filmmaking ability. The first hour proves it with minimal dialogue and the foundation it sets for the emotional second half...with minimal dialogue. Amazing film and message. Fun side note, we just got a new Boxer Puppy in the family, 12 weeks old now, name is Wally. And it was discussed between naming him after WALL-E and Wally West. So far he's both a fast little maniac, just a cute little trash muncher.

Neon_ninja

The fact that this movie conveys the majority of its emotion and plot with no words whatsoever to me makes this a movie for any age, it’s brilliant, it’s art. Even when I was 9 I knew this movie wasn’t like other animated movies.

SD

Agreed, still waiting on IT chapter 2

Waddya-talknabout
