I am actually REALLY EXCITED for this show!
It honestly looks really dark and dramatic. Looks a bit evil and intriguing. That being said, it also seems to be on the fence in terms of it working really well and it being a lackluster show from a storyline and script-writing perspective.
What do you guys think about this show? How do you gauge your level of excitement? Are you going to check it out regardless?
I really LOVE making these trailer reactions! Are these something you guys like and want me to do more of whenever there is a worthwhile trailer to watch? I truly feel like it's part of the movie-watching culture! :)

I loooooved Agatha All Along and it's a great watch for the fall. Also, one episode in particular is just the best episode of television I have ever seen, storytelling and editing-wise. Can't say much more without spoilers but trust me, it is really creative and camp. Hope you get around to watching it one day :)

Though the thought of intentionally watching Aubrey Plaza is not something I thought I'd ever do (her over acting is not what I enjoy) but if she's not in every scene it might work.

One HUGE reason is the kid who is playing the character "Teen", (most of the fandom believes he is Wanda's son who becomes Wiccan from the Young Avengers), is Joe Locke. Joe shot to stardom on Netflix when he won the role of Charlie Spring on "Heartstopper". He had never done professional acting before. Since the first season of Heartstopper, he was in a play in London's West End and spent time on Broadway as Tobias in "Sweeney Todd". He made friends with both Katherine Hahn and Patti LuPone while filming AAA. They both showed up on his opening night on Broadway. He's said that he always worshipped Patti LuPone and finds it surreal that he got to work with her. He came out as gay when he was 12 to his friends and family and just last year publicly. Anyway, Alex, I'd love to see your reaction to Heartstopper, even though it isn't necessarily your thing. But, if you don't, that's okay. I hope you really enjoy AAA... I'm going to watch your reactions AFTER I watch each episode.

Including Werewolf By Night (that you still MUST watch the black & white version of), its a whole other side of Marvel comics they haven't even started in the MCU/D+ realm yet. Madame Web is NOT MCU. Don't waste your time. The Marvels is fun. I would call it a good "popcorn movie" as it does do some callbacks to early MCU movie stories, but also progresses the MCU and sets up future projects. It is fairly light hearted as well which is nice.

2024-08-13 23:22:37 +0000 UTCAgatha is a HUGE part of the comics and is tied to Fantastic Four, as well. You need to watch Werewolf By Night. Matt Shakman, the director from WandaVision, is directing Fantastic Four: First Steps, which comes out next July.

Madame Web is kinda it's own thing, definitely not MCU. The most common description I've seen of the movie is "One of the worst movies ever made" lol

I focus on quality over quantity.
