I can proudly announce all the roof beams are done!! This means all the hard stuff is now complete.
T&G roof boards, insulation, flooring, door fitting and the rest is all easy peasy compared to standing on a ladder/scaffold 3m in the air, balancing beams whilst wielding my trusty Mallet of Encouragement +3 - he's been an absolute hero in this build, no way I could have done it without him. Dead Blow Mallets are awesome - I've decided I'm going to do a quick video on how to make one and share plans for people to pinch!
Oh and you truly can never have too many clamps - it'd have been a nightmare trying to fit all this together without them, they made squeezing the beams into their slots super easy!!
Now, if you'll permit me a brief moment of smugness, I laser measured the full diagonals to make sure I hadn't screwed up or pulled anything out of square whilst building everything and over a 8m x 5m area, the diagonal variance was 0.01mm off...... I think I can live with that..... 😏😏
Now the weather forecast is threatening snow next week!! So it's a race against the clock to get the roof done!!
