Members Extra / Behind the Scenes!

Hi all!!

I'm finally getting into a rhythm with all this video production malarkey, so thought I'd start sharing a quick video with extra footage from videos.

This is just to answer any common questions, share some of the silly outtakes and give some sneak peeks of upcoming projects!

I'm keeping it all a bit rough and ready at the moment so I don't hammer myself with even more video production, but I'll look to develop in coming months!!

Enjoy!

It’s the joy in dancing that makes one good at it. 😊

It was great to hear a bit more about your philosophy and to gain more insight into why you are making and sharing this work and the positive community and content you are trying to create. It is working. Don't stop. You and your work a gift to humanity. And the Lionel Richie pun mug is priceless.

I shouldn't be, considering we're talking about you, afterall, but I am just blown away that you do nearly all the shooting yourself! I know firsthand how much time that takes and the frustrations that can arrive! I always assumed your husband was behind the camera for all your videos. Now I'm even more impressed!

Resolve is a much nicer piece of software and a whole lot less buggy than Premiere Pro! If you are a mouser you'll likely have no problem diving in as it is very similar to Premiere in that respect. Premiere also lags dramatically behind Resolve on "pro" level features. For example, they just last month finally released a version that could do HDR properly to an external video device!

It crashed a lot for me and had some odd bugs. Of course, YMMV. I actually ended up using VideoPad from NCH because it seemed sensible to my 80’s software mind!

Bill

That would have been cool. It's great that the family is involved, especially the kids.

It must have been fun coming up with ways to make messes

Oh I grab anything or anyone I can! My husband or children help when about, but I use a lot of tripods and tend to film with several cameras for more 'brute force backups' - the DJI camera is great as it can follow me automatically. I actually almost included a clip of my six year old filming me doing the workshop clearing - very cute, I'll try and remember that for the next video!

Based on how many YTbers suffer burnout, ‘rough and ready’ to keep you sane and reduce deadline pressure is alright with all of us. Stay safe x

Bill

I'm using Premiere at the moment - more because I had it already as part of Adobe CC. I'll have a look at Da Vinci Resolve at some point as that seems highly rated too!!

I did that in one take! Although you'll see the absolute mess I made as it stuck to my shoe and spread everywhere I went!!!

Thanks so much, just need more

Agree with the others that was great I know it probably didn't happen but I'm amused by the idea of there being 20 raspberry crushing takes.

You got me started on 3d Printing. Your videos have been informative. The BL-X1-C is grinding out the pieces for my version of Underware. I have long been interested in filming videos and video editing. I would love to hear about which video editing products you are using. Keeping busy is the key to staying "young at heart". Again, Great Job!!!!

More please. This is great!

I seriously thought you had a camera man/video editor for your videos. The fact that you're doing it yourself plus the actual projects is very impressive. How long do you sleep? Thirty minutes a night? You're crazy driven.

Paris Woodhams

more of this please... very patreonesque :-)
