I think people cut Lee too much slack because he does what he thinks is right when there's danger or a difficult situation, even at risk to himself. However, he's also a sanctimonious prick most of the time and, honestly, he treats his romantic partners with very, very little respect. He's the guy you want making hard moral decisions when it's a life or death situation, but he is also very cavalier about how he treats the women who like him. He's a hard guy to like in rewatches, but he's also a damn good character.

I get how it can seem super uncomfortable to hear Apollo berate Starbuck. But look at it this way: Starbuck betrayed Adama. She violated direct orders, disappeared in the middle of an operation with a priceless military asset, then suddenly shows back up with someone who looks exactly like someone who almost murdered Lee's father. And all that comes before her knowingly bringing a cylon aboard their ship. If anything, Lee showed restraint. Also Starbuck is probably the most toxic asshole in the entire series. Don't get me wrong, we love Starbuck but she also suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucks.

Apollo always does what he thinks is right even if it means going against his father, I can understand if some find that frustrating. Also you gotta recognize that he is so crucial as CAG. I mean look how bad it got without him he’s an amazing pilot and an incredible leader, yea he has an extremely messy/complicated relationship with Starbuck but it goes both ways they talk shit and rag each other that’s how it’s always been

Love that you called out Lee being a "flip flop" XD. Something I think is interesting you should keep in mind going forward is looking at what is actually his motivation that makes him do that and see if you think that's a consistent through line. Beyond that I loved the scene with Dee calling out Adama for thinking maybe she didn't have anything to say and Suraj pretty much nailed my thoughts on the importance of that scene. Great reaction again and it's really hard not to just keep watching ahead. Edit: also thinking about it I should point out a CDR would NEVER confide in an NCO like that XD

U gotta do these two parters at the same time!!! I get it more content and less strikes but these two parters are like one long episode!

#Sunday Rundown Battlestar Galactica Since you hear the 3rd version of this song i figure i dust off my music theory i learned. for the song form this ep There is three versions you have heard “a good lighter”, “wander my friends”, both from ep 10 of season 1 The Hand of God and “reuniting the fleet” from this ep these songs it what i would call both adama’s themes. [a good lighter]- is the connective tissue and intro you to the melody, connecting lee and Adama emotionally. that he too shares those traits with Lee of self doubt and inadequacy. recognizes then that Lee will follow a similar, somewhat lonely path filled with uncertainty and inadequacy. He try to show his love how he can with the lighter from his father who felt the same way. You will hear this musical motif throughout the series with adama and lee. [wander my friends]- is lee version of the melody it’s one of the few song in BSG with lyric sung in celtic it play the lyrics conveys Lee’s feeling of a lack of direction and how Lee is insecure in his skill compared to Starbuck and finally proving to himself and everyone that he deserves his rank and position And finally Commander Adama’s version [reuniting the fleet] When the song start He's quite contemplating his actions and if what he was doing is in the right. the Song is led in timewise by the conversation between Adama and Dee he values his crew enough to let her a pettyofficer enough to allow her to speak her mind. when he appears again the music bring back his feelings same as lee His feelings of inadequacy and Stuck in his mind is what Dee said “children being separated from their parents” the two people in his life who he thinks of his children both Lee and Kara both disobeyed him to follow Laura making him wonder if he is the one whos in the wrong.

#sundayrundown I love how President Roslin’s cold-blooded decision to toss Cylons out the airlocks fits the grim reality of their situation. It’s a realism that I appreciate, even if it might seem harsh. I also find it interesting that a lot of the dialogue, like Kara teasing Lee about saying “I love you,” was ad-libbed, which adds a spontaneous layer to the show. The way Adama subtly sought Tigh’s opinion on the CAG even after establishing his unquestioned authority was a clever move, though my friend called it a dick move. I also discovered some cool behind‑the‑scenes details that just add to my enjoyment of the series. For instance, the kiss between Starbuck and Apollo came from Jamie Bamber’s idea during a script rewrite, and the choice of “Birch” as the CAG was originally because they planned to kill him off to highlight the desperation for pilots. Plus, the recurring “Adama” musical motif, first heard in “The Hand of God” and later in “Reuniting The Fleet,” really strikes a chord with me every time it plays.
