Art Update - Yet More Sunrest Guards

Hey guys,

Thanks for all the comments and feedback on the last one. I think I now have a good idea about how to handle armours in terms of programming, which should also give us some nifty things to use in terms of text descriptions as well.

Essentially, each 'main armour' item, be it the Sunrest Watch Armour, or some basic Iron Armour or suchlike, would have some flags attached. This would be either on, off, always on, or always off. There would be a flag for crotch, rear, chest, and I'm considering also midriff.

If a region is set to always on/off, the player can't modify it. In the example above, the Watch armour would have crotch and rear set to always off. However, chest and midriff would be modifiable here.

With this system, we could also have underwear (either a bra and panties set, boxer shorts, lingerie, etc) that work much the same way, though for simplicity's sake wouldn't be modifiable. The example on the far right shows underwear, resulting in the character being 'covered'.

An upshot of this means that for scene writing I can make a pretty simple method such as 'checkCrotch' or 'checkChest', which would simply check if armour or underwear contains 'on' or 'always on' for those regions. This would then give usable information to either Dialogical or the Director system. So, for instance, if an NPC wants to give you some quick head behind the local tavern, the parser/director system will be able to tell if your junk's out or if you need to undress.

For battles, I'm hoping we can give underwear of any kind a 'Striptease' move. This would be a high risk, high resolve damage move that unequips all your armour. Perhaps performing it a second time strips completely nude.

I want to work on a new armour set next, attempting to make more designs keeping in mind the region flag system for crotch, rear, midriff, and chest. I think it could make for some very cool designs, though of course not every armour will be completely modifiable in this way.

As always, your feedback is welcome and appreciated. If there's anything you'd like to see next or any entries to the Codex you'd like to see, don't be afraid to ask either on our forums or on Patreon.

Until next time!
