2022-03-17 05:58:11 +0000 UTCThis right here is hands down my favaorite episode in this series, and what I consider argueably one of the best examples of writing in anime. To your point about Lulouche tempering his words , I think right here though his choice of words fits. He was discribing the extreme control his power has so he said something that was the most oposite of something she would normally do/think to make the dramatic point. If he said "fall in love with me" in a Shonnen anime she was likely just a step or two away from that regardless. Loved your reactions. This one was a gut punch for sure.

He admitted (or was starting to) to Euphie that he has a power to make people obey his every command and was really comfortable with saying genocide the japanese please, in front of Euphie without being judged. And then that happened... My first time seeing that I was floored, wtf just happened!! lol

2022-03-16 15:44:26 +0000 UTCAt the very end of the reaction vid on YouTube, Chris recites the Emperor’s line “He did it. He’s worthy of being called my child now.” HE. Euphemia isn’t a he. The way the Emperor phrases that says a lot about what he knows. The dub changes that line to make it more vague and not gender specific, but the subtitles on their screens is the original phrasing - which is more revealing

2022-03-16 13:54:16 +0000 UTCThis episode is always painful. I like how geass (power of the king) can be interpreted as figurative power too. Lelouch said last episode he was getting good at managing people and becoming a leader to the black knights. However he has to be more careful with his "power" and choose his words carefully as they can have impact on his followers, even unintended ones. You know how die hard fans read sumliminabal messages in the leaders words? Lelouch was getting careless and using his power brashly. He almost told that nobel in the beginning of the episode to kill himself, it would have accidentally affected rival too!
