Buffy was chosen to replace The Wire. The Wire was a show we watched because we wanted to choose something ourselves and not always go by the polls. Buffy is the next show in that slot. Parks and Rec will be replaced by another similar 30 minute sitcom show.
As per requested, Buffy the Vampire Slayer is next up on the docket!! We are so excited to begin this journey with you all. We've heard nothing but great things about this cult classic. Let us know what you think!

It is hands down my favourite show of all time, no competition at all! I hope you'll give it a proper go, the first season can be tough to get through. But it only gets better as it goes on. And if you're viewer ship is struggling in the first season, I'm sure it will pick up in the second. The buffy crowd will come! So excited :)

YOU think TVD is better because you're unaware that it leans on other works of fiction, including True Blood, Supernatural, Twilight, Roswell and--wait for it--BUFFY. Over half of the cool things people liked about TVD, Buffy did it first.

Just look at the wire or parks and rec, and u can already see how many more people would be invested in this, just looking at the like and comment numbers per video. I assume if they did a poll like this for every show, the people voting 1-3 would always be the majority unless it's an anime, which is obviously the most popular type of show here atm. I wonder if they've ever had a live action show that got even close to half their patrons watching... I rly doubt it.

Like Charisma Carpenter- whose main source of income still is royalties from Buffy. So its not just boycotting or not supporting Joss- its not supporting the people who spoke out against him as well. Not holding anything against you- we're all different and if you can't enjoy the show anymore, then it is what it is. I would say comparing Whedon to a Polanski is extreme. Whedon, while admitting to having affairs, has never been accused of any sexual misconduct, just of being an asshole, of which isn't illegal.

Joss Weadon's actions in recent years gives a lot of validity to the horrible allegations on the Buffy/Angel set. I really like Buffy and Angel was amazing however Weadon is in Roman Polanski territory for me. I have a hard time viewing his work without real life issues surrounding him muddying what I'm viewing. That said I'm not going to criticize anyone for watching Buffy because of my personal hangups.

The other two options that are actually happy choices = 36% combined. No idea where your getting "more are interested than not"

Just not going to do anything that sends any money to JW's pockets if I can avoid it. Damn this show is such a time capsule of the mid-to-late-90s, too.

But I can also see why some people don’t like it. TVD is amazing and I think it has almost no flaws at the beginning but towards the second half after the originals story lines and they left and had nothing to do with the show, it did start to go down hill.

Sure, there is a monster of the week type deal but that is only on the surface, what really makes Buffy great is the character development, the pain and hardships they overcome. The growth, sorrows and the different life themes it explores. It's funny you named Mob Psycho among the better shows to react to, when I think Mob is actually quite close to what Buffy is about, the only difference is the type of comedy there is in Mob as opposed to Buffy. Also, that Buffy may at times delve into darker themes than Mob. Buffy is an amazing show.

2022-03-03 22:08:04 +0000 UTCYeah it's good but not really a show to react to. Most of the episodes are very 'Monster of the Week' and don't have any real connection between them. It's similar to why the dropped Batman TAS despite that being an amazing show. It's a great show to watch but not all of it is react worthy. And that's even more true for Buffy. There are very few episodes or moments where I go 'Man, I wish I can see their reaction to this'. GoT, Breaking Bad, Attack on Titan, Naruto, Mob Psycho 100, Death Note. These shows have that in abundance and make reactions to them fun to watch. Buffy just isn't as interesting.

But it's the second season where the show really shines and starts earning it's place as one of the greatest TV shows of all time. You guys are going to love it :)
