Guys you are ignoring some important details from previous episodes. 1) The reanimation jutsu requires the soul of the dead person. Even if in naruto universe can be a possibility to devote a soul, then such a person cannot be dead and his soul cannot be used for reanimation. 2) Just remember episode when Tobi fought against Konan. He said that the rinegan originally belongs to him, and he transplanted these eyes to Nagato when he was a child. Then episode with revived Madara, he said that he obtain the rinegan just to prior his death. Just think about it :D

Filler episodes had meaning but more in a episodic way nothing major story wise that’s brought back just moments of reminiscing with naruto later on which I’m pretty sure is why it’s called filler just covering the gaps in the year so that the major studios could have the time necessary to give us good fights

The Edo Tensai Zombie jutsu, needs a dead person's soul to be free (so you can't res the first 4 Hokages, and their blood (DNA evidence), as well as a human sacrifice to create the paper mache corpse warriors out of. The Madara fighting the Kages is using some rando's body as a vessel like all the other zombies. That means that Kabuto killed a bunch of people as human sacrifices for all the zombies.

I don't get Micky's soul/body theory at all. How can the body move without a soul? isn't it more reasonable just to assume that maybe this guy who's been claiming to be Madara the whole time isn't actually Madara just someone else using his name?

The filler arc that gets flashed back to here... really wasn't that good. Not one of the ones I enjoyed, at least. Until the very end when they go their separate ways and then it's revealed Utakata was a jinchuriki the whole time... right as he runs into the Akatsuki. That ending WAS a really cool twist But you didn't miss anything hugely important, like this episode kind of makes it seem.

Essentially any reference to the filler is also filler. So there are some episode, like this one, that are like half filler but the other half is canon

Love seeing the speculations on Tobi/Madara and how his soul was brought back separate from his body. I'm excited for these next few weeks of reactions. And of course the epic fights that are coming.

I'm glad the episode sumerised the filler so at least you get an idea of what was going on. At the begging of shipping the filler was really annoying because you just wanted know what was going on with the akatsuki and Sasuke but imo the early shippuden fillers were of a much higher quality then the ones around the war arc e.g the three tails filler w Yukimaru and Utakata's six tails filler were both really good. There was still some excellent ones that I will forever stand by, but yh there are a lot that just aren't worth your time. Personally I like that it means there are plenty of random adventures to go back to whenever I miss the show 🤷🏽‍♀️

That's a good example of my issue with the "filler" debacle in anime. You have moments like these, where Naruto sees a character he KNOWS that he met in a "filler" in canon. So wouldn't that mean the "filler" was canon? And without spoiling, there are other instances where "filler" characters appear IN the canon. So wouldn't that make them canon?

Filer lists are a fanmade thing, they aren't definitive. The concept of "filler episodes" is fairly western, and they aren't often given such a negative light over in Japan. It would also be far weirder if the events of the arc with Utakata weren't referenced in this episode considering the arc used a fairly important (at least lore-wise) character. This is the anime staying consistent with its own continuity.

So this filler arc was actually pretty solid, but definitely would’ve slowed down you guys’ momentum while viewing. It dropped right after Jiraiya vs Pain and before Sasuke vs Itachi, where Naruto’s team gets diverted to a mission nearby and they meet Utakata and Hotaru.

The only filler episode I really wish you've watched but you didn't - is ''Naruto's Favourite Pupil'' (ep.234). There is gorgeously animated fight between Temari and Konohamaru. Not only it is amazing as hell, but it also shows how much respect Konohamaru has for Naruto. I highly recommend to watch at least just this fight on YouTube or something
