What did you guys think about this episode? Have your views on any of our two main characters changed?

Comments

don't get me wrong, i like him, he's starting to get more animate but he keeps saying these wrong things as fact. maybe everyone else is just too polite to point it out

Pervy Sage

Pat barely said anything the entire reaction. What are you on about?

Max

I know dude is like the exact opposite of Chris which ironic because Chris invited him on.

Max

Pat seems the type to be very easily turned to extremism lmao. No thoughts, head empty, ready to become a fanatic at any second

Their lame Gungan shield was shown as ineffective against the Crawlers that Thanos used to breakthrough to the capital. If mere organic material with enough force can breakthrough the shield. Heavy artillery can easily do the same, especially given that Wakandan technology is weak to sound. The loudest thing that bombs and armaments make when dropped, they create a sound blast. Besides. Wakanda hypothetically is a little smaller than Switzerland, surrounded on all sides by other African nations that have shown not to be friendly towards Wakanda, who no doubt out of their own selfish goal would want their resources.

Each episode gets better and better. This one is my favorite thus far.

The Sonic tech has been around since the first Iron Man movie, it was used on Hulk in the Incredible Hulk, Rhodey uses it on Wanda in Civil War, and in Black Panther its what nullifies Vibranium.

Fighting Wombat

Welp, Killmonger got the war he wanted.................is this universe.

sonicburst3

ehhh this was on par of the second and third episode, not great not bad

We actually have no clue what technology the US has in real life and the MCU. The B2 bomber is the most advanced bomber in the world and was developed in the mid-70's. When I see things like the US military working on Project Thor, which is a project dedicated to kinetic space weapons that have the same power of a nuke, or the fact that we're developing ships with the intent of being armed with railguns it's pretty clear what the US military shows us is at least one or two generations behind. Where I'm dubious of Wakanda technology is the fault of the MCU because they've shown nothing that leads me to believe they could take on a military that outspends everyone else by an enormous amount. They've yet to show any anti-air craft technology outside of stealth jets; technology which would have come in handy against the landing ships in the Thanos invasion and it's shown the shield as being weak. Maybe that was for plot reasons but MCU Wakanda isn't nearly as powerful as Wakanda from the comics. Besides, in the this timeline the US government was working with the Tesseract and next level weapons were created from it (see Avengers). That technology would be a game changer especially if someone like Reed Richards was called in to help. The US military has a lot of powerful conventional weapons so I don't think it would even have to resort to nuclear weapons. They might be able to just starve out Wakanda by destroying their source of food that wouldn't be protected by a shield.

lol well I don't think the other countries would just sit by while the United States launched 4000 Nukes 😄 And if it does come down to a war of attrition I think Wakanda is way more self-sufficient seeing as how they rely far less then America does in terms of raw materials. And again they have an entire mountain basically made of Vibranium that they could use as a bunker which I think you're greatly underestimating. If Wakanda does have weapons similar to nukes it wouldn't matter how many the Americans have because the Wakandans would only need 1 or 2 in order to destabilize the Americans. Also like I said in my previous post. Wakanda is an extremely reclusive country built on distrust of the rest of the world. They would have had decades to prepare, study and analyze effective counter measures for the one plausible common threat shared amongst all the other nations. Where as the Americans have no idea the technological advances or weaponry that Wakanda have developed over the years. So they really would have no way to plan for an effective counter defense. Again the only thing America has going for it is just nukes, that's it. Where as Wakanda has better fortifications, more resources, weaponry both offensively and defensively light years beyond what the Americans have, but most importantly Wakanda has had decades to prepare for an attack from the sole weapon the Americans have yet the Americans have always considered Wakanda to be a dirt poor country. I still don't see how the Americans come out winning especially without destroying half the eastern hemisphere lol

Chris

That's an awful lot of assumptions you're making about the effectiveness of fictional tech from a fictional country depicted as being technologically superior to the US.

Nas

There's been so many mediocre villains in the MCU that it's hyperbole to say Killmonger is the worst MCU villain.

Can the shield withstand over 4,000 nukes? I feel pure numbers in both the amount of devastating weapons, industrial capability, and manpower would eventually overwhelm Wakanda. Not to mention in the Marvel universe they have characters like Hank Pym, Bruce Banner, and Reed Richards who could go a long way in closing the technology gap with Wakanda. Attrition would eventually be a key factor for Wakanda losing. One point about the shield that needs to be addressed. In the movie it's extremely weak. We saw basic, mindless creatures attack in mass and a few managed to get through the shield. If basic organic creatures can get through the strength of the Wakanda shield, it has zero chance against the US nuclear arsenal especially against the few high yield nukes the United States has left.

Chaos T

All the countries that have economic interests in Africa like say China probably aren't going to be cool with the US launching a bunch of Nukes at Wakanda.

Rahsaan

Calm down, you

MikeWest

Well what if Wakanda has a bomb more powerful and deadlier then a nuke? Could the Wakandian (lol not sure if thats right) Shield withstand the blast of a nuke? It would be easier for Wakanda to shelter their citizens inside the vibranium mines since they are a smaller country and minimize civilian causalities. Where as the U.S has no such shield nor ways of sheltering their civilians. We've seen Wakanda has highly advanced stealth technology. They could buy some nukes from Klaue strap their stealth tech to it and launch a pre-emptive strike. Plus it would be very highly unlikely that Wakanda would have no anti-air or anti-missle defense. I don't see it being such an easy guaranteed win. The United States would really only have one option, Nuclear weapons. And since Wakanda is already such an isolated and defensive country, to the point where they've created a giant cloaking shield to hide them from existence I doubt they would be so ill-prepared for such tactics.

Chris

Lmao sad you took your time to seem real smart and put together but that whole speech was just ignorant lol you really think a real world bomb is destroying wakanda a made up super advanced n PROTECTED civilization? Ok sure

Joseph Alli

Pervy Sage

I don't think Wakanda could ever beat the United States in a war, lol. For as advanced as the Wakandans may be, nothing stops a near relentless nuclear arsenal being launched upon your small nation. Also I doubt anyone in the United States would allow for the easy hostile takeover by a dude with some drones. If anything, you'd get something to the akin of an initial Wakandan surprise attack, only to be crushed by aerial bombardments in a few days. Also continues to show how Killmonger is the worst MCU villain, because despite all his talk for dismantling oppressive systems. He sure does love being tyrannical and not unifying all African peoples. A real Marcus Garvvy he is.

LightningLynx89

ok I'm going to go ahead and say this but in so many reactions, the white dude (sorry don't know his name) always makes the most incorrect statements and everyone just takes it as true and nobody calls him out on it. I see that a lot on Lucifer and now here

Pervy Sage

I've kind of thought Killmonger to be a pretty forgettable Villain but I have to say I really enjoyed him in this ep. I liked how they played around with the other Marvel characters too. They sure do love to kill Tony in this series 😋 And there were a couple of truly great shots of Black Panther.

Chris

What if....Bob kept Running To Nancy....

Mob K.O.

Yay more propaganda.
