Just to note - The whole overarching theme of the show is about Generations, so the bloodlines is unavoidable consequence. However not all of Naruto’s powers are passed on to him through his bloodline and he develops his own way of navigating the Shinobi world. In fact the fox, which his father gave him is almost a curse for most of the show. Remember he’s currently training in sage art, like his surrogate father figure Jiraya, Naruto isn’t all about hard bloodlines either, a lot of it is about learning from the past generations, Naruto from Jiraya, Sakura from Tsunade, and Sasuke from Orichimaru, if you notice we don’t really see much of the influence from the main 3 characters real parents, we hear about them but they aren’t as important as the figures that represent their paths in life.

People always complain about Naruto using a shadow clone to master the rasengan but he was the only 12yo to do so. Minato created it as an adult and Jiraya learned it as an adult as well and Kakashi straight up copied it lol it’s super impressive that Naruto learned and mastered it in his own way when it’s 2nd most difficult jutsu in the leaf (said by Jiraya) and at such a young age when he had lots of issues with sharks control and the kyubi fucking around with him. Konoha Ari is also very impressive learning from Naruto’s vague explanations lol I love both of them 🥰

I think the bloodline implies the skills to survive. It puts Sakura in a different light IMO. Don't forget Lee and Ten Ten are on that list as well. That's also a reason they don't tell Naruto his lineage. Hinata, Sasuke and Kakashi have all had people attack them because of bloodline traits or implied skill level. Granny Chiyo held onto that beef for decades. If folks know Naruto is son of the 4th it's a big target on his back...as well as a clue that he's where the Fox was sealed. I can easily imagine young Naruto on a mission declaring to someone that "The Future Hokage and Son of the Yellow Flash" is about to take them down. The kid is the kryptonite to subtle.

I always saw it as smart writing. The hidden leaf is the most prideful village in all of naruto. They're always talking about how they never betray, with an arrogance that no other village shows. When in reality, most of the stuff they say is not true, like naruto's childhood, the Uchiha, or even the white fang. All of this shows that the village is made of self-proclaimed heroes when in reality, they're more villains than heroes to the rest of the world.

The whole "This village is different!" thing is kinda stupid because other villages are just as, or even more united. And Narutos childhood was the direct opposite of what they claim their village is now. I guess this is supposed to show some shift between generations but it always felt odd to me.

Man, I don’t wanna be that token hater but this episode was so cap. As talented as konohamaru is, there’s still no way he should have been able to knock out a path even with the element of surprise and an A-rank jutsu like the rasengan. It’s a disservice to the reps of all the dead jounin and chunnin in the village. His time should come but a genin beating a path was inexplicably bad writing.

Konohamaru learned it at 2 years younger of an age than Naruto. They have a 5 year age gap and Naruto taught him the rasengan 3 years after he learned it in OG Naruto. Coz ya'know OG Naruto and Shippuden have a 3 year gap when he goes for the training tour with Jiraiya.

Not really, the Hokage is stated to be the strongest ninja in the village. After Hashirama who was the god of Shinobi, Tobirama was the strongest after he died Hiruzen who was his student was the strongest. So on and so on. Tsunade wasn’t even the first choice for Hokage, Jiraiya was supposed to be Hokage but he declined and the strongest remaining ninja after him that was loyal the village would have been Tsunade. So I really don’t like this whole idea of “Oh they only became Hokage because Nepotism”.

I agree with y’all about the bloodline thing. It’s the hero by destiny vs hero by chance. I will always prefer the hero by chance. It’s why Spider-Man, Peter and Miles and all the multiverse versions, are so popular. They’re random beings who got by my a radioactive spiders or a radioactive pig in Spider-Ham’s case.

It’s always been about bloodline lmao. A good example is Tsunade becoming Hokage, it was literally because she’s related to Hashirama and Tobirama, not merit. Same goes for Naruto, Jiraiya wouldn’t have been interested in him if he wasn’t Minato’s son. The whole point of the story is about bloodlines in more ways than one.

The best thing about Konohamaru's Rasengan is, that he uses another shadow clone to form the Rasengan - just like Naruto had to. Naruto probably didn't know how to teach it to him other than with the help of a shadow clone :D
