First of all... 🚨 #ReturnOfTheFabledTripleDrop 🚨 Hey Normies, just wanted to clear somethings up about the whole canon/filler discussion. Of course the manga is the derivative story and the canonical version, however there were story elements Kishimoto didn’t have time to address fully but had notes on them. The animation studios would use these unfinished ideas sometimes to add extra scenes to canon episodes, or to use as filler material that ties into/addresses kishimoto’s intentions for the characters. I do agree that there are plenty of inconsequential filler episodes, but there are a small handful that not only are enjoyable, but help provide insight on previously established things within the canon story. The point I am trying to make is not to watch the fillers, but to decide for yourself the value of the content you view through the anime whether something is labeled filler or canon. Loved this reaction and the triple drop. Can’t wait for next week!

I have done hard math and I came to a really big conclusion. According to My Filler List, if they continue to skip all fillers, they have: 203 episodes left, 101.5 weeks left, 1.94 years left. So basically about 2 years until they conclude Naruto Shippuden.

Manga vs Anime argument is pretty simple in the Anime medium is not like live action tv/movie adaptation. Anime for most part stays shot for shot with manga unless the anime gets ahead of the manga then you either get filler or story takes on its own thing. there will always be changes but they are for most part very small. In Japan the Manga is what everyone reads first its hardily ever anime only/first. Manga is king in Japan second is the anime adaptation. like everything there's always exceptions.

In regards to why pain was made up of people Jiraiya met in his travels it's important to remember he probably met thousands of people on his journeys, the show just showed us those specific interactions both because they had ideas that effected Jiraiya's world view but also because they made up pain. Also there's the whole destiny thing so it would make sense of would be people he knew so he could make his final deduction and make his selection fulfilling the prophecy.

This is true. People don't understand the difference between foreshadowing and spoilers. The intro foreshadows Jiraiya's fate, but it doesn't become completely obvious until after you see it happen. Never mind the fact that the anime has literally been hinting at Jiraiya's fate for the past 6 episodes or so even before the new intro. Even Navi picked up on it.

Sooo the great elder who had the prophecy is the one who told Jiraiya he would travel the world. Jiraiya meeting all of those exact people that became Pain must have been a direct part of the prophecy which is why the journey was part of it. Just to justify the coincidence of the people he met becoming Pain.

The overkill of "you will know pain" is halfway due to the fact that it's so overused in this arc that it became a meme over the years and is definitely used that way. So you have this group of Normies who are hearing it for the first time in the show but have also been introduced to it already as a meme, so it's not going to have that "whoa, so edgy" impact that it had back in the day. But by the end of the arc I don't think anyone was taking it seriously anymore anyways with its overuse lol. Also thanks for the triple drop you guys rock <3
