2020-12-04 07:53:38 +0000 UTCJust a reminder: Either in the very first or second episode, Light flat out said that he would kill his whole family (dad, mom AND even sister) if he had to, to keep his secret. He obviously would rather not but he isn't above doing that. If his dad discovered the death note, I'm sure he'd kill him without a second thought. Light is smart as hell and nobody is arguing against that. But let's be real, he's a sociopathic mass murderer with NO regard for human life. He's killed several innocent FBI agents, what's one more cop to him?

The popular theory is that Light had memorised the freshman address and was reciting it. L on the other hand heard light recite it, and repeated it word for word.
