Song is State of the Art (A.E.I.O.U) by Jim James By jumping to conclusions, Emori made the conclusion that she jumped to the most likely outcome. A lot of the discussion about the cave scene was outrage over the "sex cures the girl of her emotions" trope which sadly is very shortsighted and doesn't take anything else into account. The scene is shot as being the horrible that it actually is. This is not healthy for her and the show does make it seem that way at all. She is lost right now, overwhelmed with grief and unable to truly figure what/who she is. As for Bellamy, this is the culmination of his over correction to "saving who we can save today". He is just as lost as Octavia, only this is because of the massacre of Trikru that he participated in. He needed to learn that you can't save everyone and that only the who want to be saved can actually be saved. He needed this lesson to understand exactly where he went wrong.
