You idiot, go watch season 1 episode 8 again and this time pay attention! Mainly near the end where deku told bakugo his secret. I was just like you thinking the same thing, that bakugo was just a bully in the show nothing more. But after hearing what bakugo said to deku after he lost for the first time from the 'weakling' he thought deku was, I knew that bakugo was not just an ass. I honestly thought bakugo was going to whine and bitch after taking his first lose to deku and that would be the end of his progression. But when Bakugo said to deku that he is just getting started and when all might rushed towards bakugo to comfort and encourage him, bakugo pushed it away and said that he is over it. It showed that bakugo has potential and was not just a bully. He had the mentality of someone strong who doesnt linger on his mistakes or his problems. He gets up and works harder. That's just how bakugo is, it's a very obvious flaw but he has characteristics of what a winner is. it's funny how people still hate on bakugo just because of his first appearance as a bully lol it shows how simple mind most people are.

Not going to lie, even after watching this episode, I still hate Kaa-chan. Doesn't matter how much he developed, the guy literally bullied Deku throughout their entire childhood. It's easy to like him if you ignore all of that, which seems to be the case for most people

This show made Bakugo's family dynamic seem funny but it's actually pretty toxic. Bakugo's mom reinforced the notion that Bakugo was kidnapped because he was too weak, which in turn, made it more difficult for Bakugo to reconcile what happened to All Might, and made it impossible for him to open up to his parents about how he felt, hence why he had to take it out on someone else.

You got it mixed up. Also, don't trust those trailer subs. Bakugo's is "Save to Win" since winning is still ultimately his goal while Midoriya's is "Win to Save" because he's still about Saving. Save to Win: Saving can count towards a victory Win to Save: Overcoming opponents without crushing yourself thus retaining the ability to save someone else.

To be honest...I had always gotten the Vegeta vibe from Bakugo, since the beginning. That jerk like, easily ticked visage when people became or seemed to become stronger than him...that being cuz HE perceived himself falling behind. This episode cemented that. I truly began to "love" Bakugo after this because the onion peeled away of how he truly felt. You suspected these things about him...but to see him share these emotions is quite frankly...oddly cathartic. Confirms to us why we appreciate his character and his development.

iight now that you guys finally saw this, this is when I Bakugou became my favorite If you look back to when All Might met his parents for the dorms, his mom is the one who told him that if he wasn't so weak, he wouldn't have caused so much trouble So that's what he lives with, and that's the kind of things his family says to him. To push through that how he does, he's the best.

Just wanna say, deku had to break through his limiter of 5% to 8% and still couldn’t beat bakugo. What a lot of ppl fail to realize that yeah deku can use more but he’ll destroy his body doing so, and bakugo has also said he can break his limits but it damages his arms. So bakugo and todoroki still the strongest.

Let this be the episode where All Might symbolically trusts Bakugo to be an ideological successor. He told both Deku and Kacchan that they’re both half right and that if they work together, they could both be Symbols of Peace. Further evidenced by the US of Smash theme playing during their fight.
