I try not to judge shows just on their first episode, so I'm hoping this one can convince me that this show is actually worth my time. - That is NOT the kind of manouver a plane should be doing over a city at this altitude. - THAT is why. That's usually not how you want to land a plane. - Welp, this guy's chances of getting with Jisoo are certainly going down the drain. - I think I might have said it in the first episode but those are some of the most useless soldiers I've ever seen. - Martial law, oh shit, that seems VERY fitting to recent events in real life South Korea π - Yes, the president Yoon Suk-yeol basically attempted a coup by imposing martial law. Which thankfully failed catastrophically. Motherfucker is most likely going to prison, where he belongs. - Arron Park seems like one of the very few people who actually know what they're doing. - Oh, these are the FAST zombies, got it. - Special effects are on point, I'll have to give this show that. - They got a perfectly spaced gap for a molotov cocktail. You know, like the ones they have DOZENS of. And Jae-yoon doesn't get the idea to use any? - Absolutely. If you aren't breaking any ribs, you aren't doing CPR. Episode 2 is certainly quite a bit better than the first. I still don't like the male leads but I'll keep watching.

2025-03-05 12:41:01 +0000 UTCmany of the sequences and special effects remind me of Brain Dead. the gore film by Peter Jackson. and in these visual effects, special effects and its staging the series is really very good - but it is just as bad in its acting I can't stand the 2 main male roles who overplay and who are inconsistent in almost all their actions and decisions. - I know that the series is supposed to be funny and offbeat. Brain Dead for example perfectly assumed its Z series nanar side. but Newtopia is not supposed to be a Z series its acting is supposed to be at the top and it is not the case for me. disappointed with this aspect of the series. on the other hand Jisoo is really very good and some secondary male actors like AAron Park or Alex are very correct.

2025-03-05 12:29:42 +0000 UTCYep. The pace definitely picked up in this one. Most of the soldiers are just doing their 2 year obligation, so they don't seem to be gung-ho about being a soldier. And, as someone who served, the whole asking someone for permission to speak every time would drive me nuts. At this point, I was seeing this as almost a parody of the public and the military, since no one seemed to be doing anything right, or even understand the problem.
