Produce 48 Episode 4 - REACTION

Produce 48 Episode 4 - REACTION

Comments

Okay, well here we go. Still mad over how dirty they did Gyuri. Red Velvet โ€“ Peek-A-Boo - Another four replays. Why? For what reason? - AND TWO MORE FOR FUCKS SAKE STOP IT AND LET US SEE THIS FUCKING PERFORMANCE UNINTERRUPTED YOU ABSOLUTE FUCKING BELLENDS. WE ALREADY SAW THIS NOTE TEN FUCKING TIMES BEFORE. ENOUGH. - And then there's multiple more high notes that Gyuri completely nails (safe for the very last one). So what the FUCK was the point of showing us that one shaky note TWELVE TIMES?? - So Gyuri is already beating herself up right after the performance. Imagine what happened when she saw how the Mnet Cunts decided to portray her. They completely annihilated any shroud of confidence she had. - I'm not trying to be unreasonable here. For me group 2 also performed better and I'd give my vote to them. I'm just so annoyed at Mnet basically pointing and laughing at Gyuri like โ€œlook how terrible this girl is, she can't even sing rightโ€. That was uncalled for. - AleXa is the one who got those 4 votes ๐Ÿ’€ - And a deserved win for group 2. AOA โ€“ Short Hair - Really nice to see how supportive the team is of Juri. - Very good. And Yuri's vocal is phenomenal! - Team 2 was really good too. I think I'd give the edge to team 1? But they're really close. KARA โ€“ Mamma Mia - Yes! Despite her worries, Minji did well on the high note. Nice. - Great improvements on team 2 as well. AKB48 โ€“ High Tension - hi yunjin - The song immediately sounds completely different from anything you'd hear in Kpop. - I think I'm giving the edge to team 2. It's pretty close again. - Yunjin's surname is ํ—ˆ. Of which the โ€œcorrectโ€ romanisation is indeed Heo. But the pronunciation (for an English speaker) is โ€œhuhโ€ and that's probably why she's writing it like that today. (yet another shameless plug for you to learn the Korean alphabet so that you can eliminate confusions like that ๐Ÿค ) BLACKPINK โ€“ Boombayah - rip to the bitrate - Editing was a bit strange at the end of team 1's performance but that was great! - Cheetah, you have to tell Hyewon what it is that she needs to change. Just telling her to do it again and expecting a different result is the definition of insanity. - Girls, if you're gonna change some lyrics, keep the number of syllables the same please. โ€œS N A C K in your areaโ€ sounds awkward as hell ๐Ÿ˜… - Okay, well. It is pretty cute but honestly, team 1 takes this for me and it's not even close. I will say though, Chowon is great. Maybe to be expected since she is in Lightsum right now and she's always been THE eye catcher for me there as well. - Huh. Okay. Well, congratulations. TWICE โ€“ Like Ooh-Ahh - What is that knock off Lego logo on Goto Moe's shirt ๐Ÿ˜… - I can see why Haeyoon became the leader of Cherry Bullet. - I have ZERO complaints about team 1. - With team 2 I can tell they had some hurdles in their preparations but they cleaned up pretty nicely. Team 1 was still better but team 2 was not too far behind in the end. I.O.I โ€“ Very Very Very - Oh damn. Team 1 has two IVE members, plus Goeun from Purple Kiss and Yena. - Oh shit, team 2 is just as stacked. Kwon Eunbi, Sakura and Lee Chaeyeon. - Choyeon was definitely doing too much in the evaluation. - And there you have the issue of changing positions close to the deadline. Way too little time left to learn all the new lines which is especially hard when you don't speak Korean, like Sakura couldn't back then. - Changing the center is always horrible advice from the trainers that the groups should never take. All it does is mess up the training process. Even if a center isn't good at the first evaluation, they can (and very often do) improve. - Very glad to see that it worked out for them in the end. - No Hongki, it's good that they changed BACK. They never should have changed the center position in the first place and shame on Bae Yoon Jung for even suggesting it at all. SHAME! - Oh you saw the Psick show? That one's always a blast! If you ever decide to bring back the randon one off variety show reactions, Psick should definitely be on that roster. - I honestly can't wait for the MCU to die out just so those constant Avengers references finally stop. Reject Marvel, embrace the Cosmere! - I feel like I need to remind you and everyone else that this is a 13 year old Wonyoung right here. And a 14 year old Yujin. How? - Yeh, they take that one for me. Yay, we got an elimination episode coming next week! ๐Ÿ™‚

- Aaaand another 4x repeat of Gyuri's little mishap ๐Ÿ˜ด. So lame. Sure, she made a mistake and it was at a highlight of the song, but did it take me out of it? No. - I don't have many comments so far, probably because my neighbors are doing construction, which is super annoying ๐Ÿ˜ก - I like how enthusiastic (and free-spirited) Wonyoung is in the audience. Such a contrast with nowadays, where if she does anything more than breathing, ppl will criticize her ๐Ÿ™„ - Hmm ๐Ÿค”, I've seen this point of discussion before in other survival shows, where some trainees want to learn the ROUTINE first, while others want to get the DETAILS right first. I've never given this a lot of thought, but now that I think about it, it IS a difficult decision. Because if you spent too much time on the details, there might not be enough time for the rest of the routine. But if you spent too much time on the routine that doesn't have much detail, than you're learning it "wrong" and will have to spent even more time on fixing that. High Tension - Holy shit. I got blown away by Haesol's vocals. Very mature, and like an experienced singer. But I guess I was the minority since she only got 40 points ๐Ÿ˜ข - Yunjin's family name in Korean is ํ—ˆ so the correct romanization would indeed be "Heo". So I guess she chose herself for it to be "Huh". Maybe to prevent her being (accidentally) called "Hoe" when she was in the US? ๐Ÿ˜ฌ Boombayah - Chaejeong was indeed great. She deserved much more points. - What's the use of having a girl repeating herself if you're not telling her what she did wrong? Cheetah keeps saying "again", and Haewon is doing it the same way, again, like she was asked to do. Asking for it again but expecting different things is pretty dumb imo. - Even though group 2 was maybe too cute for the song, there were some great lower vocals in there. - It was 50-50 for me, so I was fine either way. Like Ooh-Ahh - There were some critiques by the trainers on how good/bad the pronunciation was. I think that was for the korean songs. So, basically it's the Japanese who are getting judged there. But who's gonna critique the Korean idols on their Japanese pronunciation? - Chaewon, Seunghyeon (Riina), and Doah in 1 group. This should be good ๐Ÿ‘ - And it was - Haewon has great vocals. I was wondering why she was the only one with a handheld mic. - So after a Soyeon and a Seoyeon, we now get a Seoyeong? And I know there are also Sohyeon, Seohyeon, etc. Seriously, whoever came up with these names, creativity wasn't their strong suit ๐Ÿ˜ฌ - What?! Only 26 for my girl Seunghyeon (H1-key Riina)??? ๐Ÿ˜ก - And 172 for Moe? Not that she did bad, but she wasn't a standout for me either. Very, Very, Very - Hitomi's voice (and appearance) is so cute - That's an interesting observation about the whole "changing center" narrative of this episode ๐Ÿค”. And you're right, everytime the trainers were suggesting a center change and they didn't, they did good. And now, when they actually listened to the judges, and changed the center, they apparently sucked. So, what is Mnet trying to tell us here? Never listen to the trainers? ๐Ÿ˜… The trainers suck? ๐Ÿ˜… - Choyeon's vocals are still great for me. But it's hard to stand out when the whole group is great ๐Ÿ‘ - I also watched some of those Wonyoung clips (Psick Show) where she basically gave them a run for their money ๐Ÿ˜… - The Yena blowing on the window had me laughing out loud ๐Ÿ˜‚ - I also don't know who's gonna win. It's probably gonna be very, very, very close ๐Ÿ˜ - After seeing group 1, I definitely think they should win. There may be some individual performances of group 2 that were slightly better (Chaeyeon's dance for example), but overall the teamwork and energy of group 1 was just perfect. Probably best performance so far ๐Ÿ‘Œ

- Boombayah team 2 had a long way to go and I gained great respect for Han cho-won for the work she did to try to create a group that could be credible on stage. But the truth is that most of the girls looked like they were 12 and were terrified on stage. Hyewon worked hard and did better but you don't become a rapper in a few days, you can't improvise as a rapper or singer. the rest of the girls clearly had no motivation. and suddenly the performance could only be embarrassing. on the other hand, to measure it was not even catastrophic, I really thought it was going to be worse than that. Let's say it was boombayah, the college version. the victory of group 2 didn't really mean anything to me. This is probably the most contested result. but at the time the Japanese public voted en masse during the show which explains the popularity of certain Japanese girls. Victory is not always a question of common sense or talent; often it is a question of popularity. - like Ooh-ahh team 1 I love this team Park Hae yoon, Chaewon, Goto moe, Kim Doah were among my favorites at that time. probably one of the 3 best performances of the evening very good vocal, dance syncro, amazing visual great job girl big han to my girl Moe she has made a lot of progress. - like Ooh-Ahh team 2 good work also some leadership problems but overall good job. For my part, as the coaches say, team 1 looks like a group that has made these beginnings, so for me it's a victory for team 1. Goto Moe and Kim Chaewon had so many votes - very very very team avengers Yujin and wonyoung (IVE), Goeun (purple kiss), Yena, Hitomi, Miru frankly what can I say they are perfect I love all the members Goeun and Yujuin have incredible voices, they all dance very well. are all charismatic and incredibly beautiful. They have fun on stage, they are very comfortable. and they bring incredible freshness thanks to the very playful side of Yena, Yujin and Wonyoung. If this group had made these debuts I would have been a huge fan. I'm not going to say much about this team because that would only be a compliment, I'm already very biased - very very very team Avengers west coast (lol) Sakura,(Lesserafim), Kwon eunbi, Lee chaeyeon, Minju, Cho-yeon They are perfect too, I was a little afraid because what was very often noticed by the fans was that Cho-yeon seemed overplayed. she has a very expressive face and eyes naturally the slightest effort for her and it's already too much if she overplays it's a bit embarrassing. she reminds me of Yuna ITZY I have the same feeling with her I don't like seeing her perform" because she makes me uncomfortable. but that doesn't call into question the talent of Cho-yeon or Yuna it's just that they are too expressive. -Kwon eunbi did a very good job of leading this group, changing centers along the way is not an easy decision and she made a fair and relevant choice to register each girl at the center position to see who would do the best job . and when Sakura was chosen she followed her and advised her throughout. once again Sakura deserves immense respect for bringing the Japanese girls to the top by her determination to be constantly challenged and by learning rap yet she was harshly criticized. despite this she came on stage and did a very good job I doubt many people could hold the shock after being so criticized a day before. - frankly like you DG I love both teams I am happy for the winners and sad for the losers. even if objectively speaking team 1 was much more comfortable on stage and therefore their victory is deserved.

- for Gyu'ri at the time this error was major because in this type of show the idols are very sensitive. but for me and all Gyuri fans it wasn't very serious. if on paper the montage was similar to that of Chanmi in season 1 in reality it did not have the same impact because Gyu-ri was much more popular than Chanmi. -Peekaboo team 1 Gyu-ri despite his mistake in making things right I think that what he did that it was not such a serious mistake is that people knew that his mistake was due to a throat problem not a lack of talent or work. , Yiren, kaeun and Alexa were the best in this performance and Jurina did a good job. -peekaboo team 2 very good work this team did not start with the highest ranked girls of the show but despite everything they did a better job than group 1 Shitao Miu is also one of the Japanese that I noticed at the time and Yeji did a good job vocally. - if we are fair and honest, team 2 wins easily. but indeed the popularity of the girls of group 1 could have saved them. I thought at the time that Kaeun, Jurina and especially Gyu-ri could have won their team just thanks to their popularity. -Shitao Miu looks like a mix between Kazuha and Sakura. - before continuing I would like to say this. At the time there were certain articles saying that this show was going to be a failure that bringing Japanese idols into a Korean program was going to create tensions and racism. but this show only showed the opposite, we can see that the Koreans helped and supported the Japanese idols. from the first episode they supported them, found them cute and never judged their lack of skills. - yes DG that's what I like in the produce series, seeing the girls' training, their lives in the dormitory, their lessons with the mentors. that's why the episodes are longer and that's what was missing in GP999 - Short hair team 1 phenomenal job almost as good than AOA the trio Yuri, Shi-hyun and Juri was incredible thanks to Shi-hyun and Yuri for supporting Juri. -Short hair team 2 Lee Sian became one of my crushes during the show I really like this girl's state of mind. Being the leader of a mostly Japanese team with only very low ranked girls is very hard work but Sian is a tough cookie so she overcame the difficulty. the performance was really good. -I think that team 1 was perfect but seeing the incredible work of group 2 despite having very poorly ranked girls makes the performance of team 2 more impressive. happy that team 1 won, I love Juri and Shi-hyun but team 2 has nothing to be ashamed of. - Mama Mia team 1 It must have been very hard for Park Minji. I think she didn't understand what Soyou expected of her. While trying to resolve the problem, she put a lot of pressure on her. for the performance already the songs of KARA are catchy as fuck and Mama mia is an incredible song very good performance by Murase Sae and Chyori they are very charismatic good performance also by Jieun (ex purple kiss) and Minji was incredible very good job editing of MNET when they do a good job it must be said. very few shots of the audience during this episode. - Mama mia team 2 This team is a perfect example of the difference in vision between the Koreans and the Japanese. The Japanese wanted to learn the routine in broad terms first and fix the details later. but in Korea the idols don't work like that they fix the details from the start they learn 30 seconds of choreo and when these 30 seconds are perfect they move on. Their performance was good but I found that at the time this team lacked charisma. that's why they lost team 1 had a lot more charisma thanks to Sae and Chyori. - High voltage team 1 I'm not sure if Saho became "SUPERCENTER" because honestly I was captivated by Dayoung who was too adorable - High tension team 2 this team was best "kirin-chan" Hyun-jin was phenomenal, very good facial expression and very good vocals, Suhyun was also very good as well as Myiu and her very pronounced voice and their rap part had impact. very clear victory -and yes DG the subtitles are often wrong with the names. that's why I'm so often confused - Boombayah team 1 frankly from the start I would have also put Yoo-jin as the center, she exudes charisma and confidence, she's exactly the kind of girl I would have seen as the center in a group. the group is perfect the girls are talented very good performance. - Boombayah team 2 I'm going to be harsh but at the time I found this performance embarrassing. the girls just weren't made for this kind of performance.

When it comes to Boombayah, I'm personally happy with the result. Part of the reason is because I tend to root for the "underdog", so I love a good "overcoming the odds" situation. Another part of it was that group 1 wanted an easy win from the beginning, so I really did not want them to have that satisfaction of winning(although it is an understandable strategy). The second team had a cuteness to them that I guess made the people vote for them(and popularity was a part of it too of course), even though team 1 was "technically" better.
