The nightmare furries in particular (called Hunters as a working name) are characters from an idea I had about beings that live in a ~dreamscape~ that hunt down nightmares to help people sleep better, and also get rid of these nightmares if they manifest in reality. Wraith, for example, often appears to protect women, children, and victims of abuse from their nightmares, while Crash is just a general I'm-gonna-murder-some-spooky-bad-thoughts-with-my-chainsaw kind of guy.
A shallow idea I'm sure I'll make one post about and never do anything with, but one I'm having fun with at any rate haha
