A New Years Update Post

First of all, happy new years to you all! Whether you stayed in or went out, I hope you had a nice evening last night (or last last night? depending on where you live!)

Secondly, I just wanted to make a small post to say thank you. I know it's sometimes a little hard to really convey emotion through text, but I cannot express to you enough how much your support means, especially in the last year. No matter what your pledge amount or for how long you've been a patron, it means the absolute world to me. 

This last year, I think, has been one of the toughest ones for me -- art or otherwise. I've been fighting through this sort of physically exhausted, mentally drained state for years, but I think it got the best of me in 2017. While I'd like to think my art's been improving in that time, I know for a fact my productivity kind of fell down a few steps. There'd be days where I could only be awake for a few hours before crawling back into bed due to some new stomach pain, or only type a few sentences for my book before closing my laptop because it was impossible to think straight. 

But even through that, having you guys here and knowing I've got to pull those sketch dumps together each month is probably a good 90% of the reason I improved and kept drawing this year. Otherwise -- hell who knows -- I might not have been able to drag myself out of bed some days.

But! 2018 is a new year and I've got a fresh start, so I'm going to try and hit an art pace I had in say, 2016. So I guess this is a little bit of a new years resolution list?

I'm going to try and get back to doing at least one big piece a month, and just finishing things in general. Maybe it won't be linearted specifically -- maybe it'll be lineless or in my black/grey sketchy style -- but I'm aiming for gosh dang finished compositions or concepts. Also, I'm able to record/edit videos again, so I'm hoping to add timelapse videos to the $5 tier. I don't know if this'll be in EVERY month's package, and it certainly won't replace WIP PSD files (it's easier to take screenshots of something I worked on over a period of days, while timelapses are good for something I get done in one sitting/day I think), but I do want to add them. 

Also. Gotta finish writing The Executioners this year, goal being by the end of quarter 2. As of writing this post, I have approximately 128,942+ unedited words written for this story. You'd think I'd be somewhere near done by now, but NOPE. It's a big one boyos, and I'd like to thank you for both your patience, encouragement, and feedback while I've been writing this. 

Lastly, I'd like to give the base $1 tier more content, as in posting to it more often. I often put sketches on twitter first, since they're usually warm ups or i don't feel like they're, idk, good/important enough for patreon? BUT this one goes sort of hand-in-hand with wanting to finish more things in general. 

Also, thanks to something FUNKY that happened with the site's HTML when it switched formats, my tier's descriptions are...stuck as those images haha, unless I delete them and make new tiers but idk if that'll mess up people's current pledges. So if all of these changes happen, I'll have to figure out how to reflect those in the tier descriptions.

And for god's sake I gotta stop naming my stuff ajsdhskja.sai. That's another resolution.

ANYWAYS my dudes that is what's up with me and my current plans. I'd like to thank you just one final time for sticking by me through all of this, and I hope we can all collectively kick 2018's butt with good content and wholesome, positive thoughts and actions 👌👌👌
