Caaaaakes!
This past fortnight has had me spending a lot of time on beefing up the game in ways that didn't involve strictly writing a bunch of words on a page. There's finally a proper title screen! There's a recolour of the menus that play nicer with said new title screen! Spanish translation (up until the third day anyway)! More new art! I think they all contribute to give Penlight a more complete look, and I'm happy for getting it all done!
Buuuut, doing all that came *did* mean the writing suffered this period. Designing specs for so much new art, learning how to incorporate a second language into the game and coding the menus really ate into a ton of my time. And in the time I did have, it's all been focused on fixing existing storylines.
Still, if you want to check out Hiroko's and Nozomi's newest storylines again you'll find they've had some more work done to them and both their endings should be a bit better now? Nozomi's especially, as I really felt she needed to have more agency than she had in the previous version. I also did a teensy bit more thinking for the Villainous Redemption path and updated the outlining for that, although it hasn't progressed much beyond where it was and may not be developed further for some time.
Anyway, I had intended to explore a couple of minor sidepaths in this dev period, so I may put out another mid-week update to try and ensure there's at least some all-new writing to exhibit this month.
